Here in Bulgaria we like to say ''Sometimes the happiest person on the planet is the villager who never left his tiny Village.''... Lately I have been thinking that traveling, experiences and most of all the constant desire for new ones is a form of endless consumption as well and that minimalism can be applied in this sphere of out lives as well.
_"The truth is, no matter where you go, if there is conflict in your life, it will follow you wherever you go."_ (1:55) I really enjoyed this video! I'm very much interested in slowing down my personal life as well, but I've never made it to a Tibetan monastery like this. Looks very peaceful, I can imagine it's easier in a place like this to reflect on one's personal demons and bad habits. Also interesting point that monk made about the importance of studying your soul/inner life in order to practice deep meditation (vs. empty meditation)!
Your storytelling skills are very strong! I was feeling very down today, but now I know that my problems are much smaller than my soul and my purpose! Good luck with this channel!
I miss Tibet and the Himalayan continent. Need to rewrite all those stories on the road since 10 years ago. Its refreshing to see this post 😊 Thank you so much.
Very nice video. I done something similar where I spent 5 days at a Trappist monastery. But watching your video, I have to say a very nice work. Thank you for sharing.
Your editing and storytelling is absolutely amazing. I’ve been finding a lot of clarity watching your videos lately. I really appreciate that. Para adelante, siempre adelante. Cuidate
There is something in their eyes. The eyes are the mirror of the soul. . Peace my friend. Constantly on the move, distracted. We all need less distraction.
Beautiful brief video. It should have a lot more views. It’s much better than the ones I’ve published about life among monks and in monasteries. Better cinematography and voiceover. 👍🙏
Hi Robert, great video! I was actually thinking of visiting China for a 2 week holiday next year... I could possibly slot this monastery into my visit for a few hours, as long as there is a local hotel close by. Do you know what the procedure is to book a visit here? Is there a specific contact? Many thanks and greetings from England!
Hey there! Absolutely, it’s a beautiful place. You can fly from Xian to Xiahe. From the airport take a taxi to the main town and go to Nirvana hotel, it’s right next to the monastery. Great place owned by a foreigner, you will get all the info there. Hope you have a great trip Featured hotel: Nirvana Hotel Check out Nirvana Hotel in Xiahe on our website or app! www.trip.com/w/cNi98rc9SS1
@@RobertCreating Thank you so much for the valuable info, really helpful! If I have any further questions, I'll be sure to shoot you a DM. Cheers and thanks for being a great RU-vidr.
Hey I am sorry, I don't know how you can do that, I just went for a couple weeks. If you are Chinese, you can just go and stay as long as you want, but if not you need to research how foreigners do it.
Depends, are you Chinese? If you are, you can go to Xiahe, Labrang monastery. Free admissions to anyone. If you are not Chinese, I am not sure about the Visa or paperwork.
Hey Robert, thank you so much for sharing! How exactly did you communicate before your stay there? Did you had to pay for your stay or exchange with work and do you think as a woman it would also be possible to stay in a tibetan monestry? I would really appreciate an answer, thank you for your time!
Hello there! Anyone can go to Xiahe, gansu province, China. There you will find the labrang monastery. There are many hotels nearby, It is a safe place. Unfortunately, it is forbidden to stay in Labrang but there are many monasteries nearby who accept visitors (In exchange for money or food). If you decide to go I may be able to help you with a guy who knows a monk. You can send me a direct message on Instagram @robertcreating
