Lamborghini already built the world's sharpest SUV by taking a commuter chassis shared with Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche then dropping in a gobsmacking twin-turbo V8, adjustable ride-height air suspension, and adaptive sway bars. The angular exterior takes aggressive design to a new level, while on the inside, the classic fighter-jet style serves as a constant reminder of the performance available with just a quick mash of the accelerator pedal.
But now, Lambo has upped the ante even further with the Performante package, which gets more power, a wider body, and lowered steel springs with aims of shaving laps times. Yeah, they're talking about lap times in a $300,000-plus super SUV. But can the sharper version of the sharpest SUV on the market actually live up to real-world use without sacrificing comfort and convenience? HotCars contributor Michael Van Runkle daily drove a Performante on the streets of Los Angeles to find out.
