Living Without Problems

On "feelings"...yes I get it. I felt like I really wanted to leave the relationship that I was in for five years, but worked through those feelings. Over the next couple of years, those feelings kept arrising. Then it hit me. I have to go. I can no longer stay in this environment. I took two days after it "hit" me...and then set up a time to talk to my partner. He listened patiently and accepted what I had to say and what my decision had been. We did not talk for months after our split up, but now five years later, we are mighty good friends. We see each other around every month or two...or if we are working on a piece of music...we'll meet more often. But I totally get it. I did not want my "feelings" to rule the situation. I needed to look inward and look at WHY and WHERE these feelings were coming from. In the end, I know I made a good choice...because I did not move on FEELINGS alone.
