That's because the tune is written as a d minor pentatonic. The minor pentatonic scales are what blues are known for. She also slides up into the sharp 7th which is another feature of blues

By the look of it, it's a Quick Draw capo. Very easy to slide up and down the neck, and when not needed, it's just pushed beyond the nut.
