In the UK, sunny days are few and far between this winter. It's been one of the wettest winters ever! Nonetheless, we had one nice day earlier this week, so I took advantage of it and went out and shot a video of Lizard Point - The Most Southerly Point in Mainland Great Britain.
I start off the tour in the main parking area and centre of the Lizard Village. While walking down to Lizard Point, I meandered down small roads, taking in the key landmarks en route. Upon arrival, there are two cafes, one is technically 500 metres further south, but WaveCrest Cafe has a better view in my opinion. You can't get any further south than this unless you're on the Isles of Scilly (which isn't mainland Great Britain). There's a fee for visiting the lighthouse, so I didn't go in because I didn't see the point. Most people go for the walk, the views, and to say they've been there and visited the landmark itself.
There was a lot of wind noise on the original footage, so I found some music that I thought worked better and blended that in using three different tracks. I hope you enjoy the video! It's about 9 minutes 30 seconds long but it'll give viewers from the UK and further afield a good idea of what the Lizard Village and Lizard Point would likely be like on a sunny day! Do bear in mind that in the summer months it is exceptionally busy - I filmed this in March 2024 prior to Easter.
The sheep were playing silly games standing on stone walls, etc., as I walked back up the hill. I had to look twice just to be sure I wasn't seeing things! So that was quite amusing! :)
