My schedule is all over the place so I appreciate the delayed vods here. Your WoW stories are so on brand for this series. My favourite memory of playing MMO is still from Warhammer Online where everyone believed that only way to win was purely stacking on objective and winning through nuber superiority. My guild spotted a really nice hill in the PvP zone that everyone always ignored. We actually organized 2 warbands (one warband is 24 players) from the guild on voice comms waaay back years ago which was achievement in of itself. and actually used a proper unit cohesion strategies using tanks mid range.long range lines and melee bruisers as harrasing force to anyone trying to play objective. That hill became better fortress than the actual objective itself. Turned a losing defensive battle around by just planting out fat butts on a hill and cutting off any reinforcements that were trying to get to the fort objective. The line was perfect and I still remember that moment in my gaming memory as a crowning achievement. All the voice comm chatter and the coordination was legendary. I can really relate to Ainz wanting to keep his guild Legacy, he's too focused on it tho, one of the tropes of becoming undead. From that day onward we used to organize our "hit them where it hurts" raids while on defensive using PVE only spaces etc to just loop around disorganized mobs and hit them like a wrecking ball. Ahhh the good times....
I guess the RU-vidr job is great for you. You can sleep in and do the work when you are awake. Not a set time you have to go that interrupts your sleep to go to.
I like to think that Cocytus sent the units in cause he's a warrior, not a commander- that he has the pride of a warrior, and just wants to face his opponents head on.

Don't forget they declared also at the end of season one there was a lizard man tribe nearby when they were looking for test subjects to create greater undead than mere humans
Here we have Ainz revealing a bit of his true colors. If Demiurge didn‘t offer a beneficial solution to help Cocytus out, Ainz would‘ve genocided all of the lizardmen, down to the last child. All so he could test whether their corpses could make high level undead. You should remember this when watching season 3: He‘s generally nice and fair to his subordinates but ultimately he will do what benefits him, no matter if it’s good or absolutely evil. Him and Nazarick are kind of the main villains in this world.
@@NinjaKumaReacts He's definitely an asshole, at least to anyone who's not of use to him or is favored by his subordinates (he kinda treats them like his children in a way).
@@NinjaKumaReactsAinz is undead because of that this world suppress's his humanity a lot. Plus Ainz only cares for his friends. Not to spoil anything I will just say it will be a LOT clearer that he is evil in season 4.
Rules of survival in this world, do not become classified as a threat to Nazarick, make certain to be viewed as a beneficial resource for Nazarick in your current position lest you become a test subject for making undead, or worst a "parchment provider".
Unpopular opinion; what if the game failed because people got bored of pay to win mechanics ruling the world? There's a certain charm to being able to take control of territory and also lose it when you get complacent.
Entoma is so creepy when she's just standing them staring, it's one of the reasons I love her so much. Her design is amazing, and the small parts moving like the hair combined with the blank stare and artificial face makes her very disconcerting, specially with those eyes. My favorite Pleiades by FAR are her and CZ, for very different reasons though. She'd look even creepier if the anime explained what she was doing there though, as she was there literally to watch and judge every action Cocytus took on Ainz's orders, not to mention she was also the one who stopped Demiurge from giving any advice. Despite the fact that she's much weaker than Cocytus and in a lower position than him, the fact that Ainz ordered her to judge him made her somewhat of an overpowering precence, as she acted like Ainz's own eye watching.

Arthas is cute and all, but he's hardly the OG anything. Most likely the inspiration for Ainz is the lich Larloch, the Shadow King, from Dungeons and Dragons' Faerun setting, and he's been around a hell of a lot longer than Arthas has (first references in his wiki page are from the early 90's).
@@NinjaKumaReacts Most spells in Overlord are taken directly from DnD as is the tier system (known as "spell levels" in DnD). The class system is also similar. IIRC the author once stated in an interview that he started writing Overlord after his DnD party broke up since he missed the game. Yggdrasil basically took DnD's system and applied the insane stat/gear/power-scaling tropes of long running MMORPGs to it, and the story of Overlord is the logical conclusion of what happens when you take something that overpowered and plop it into a "classic“ fantasy setting. By the way, the "new world" is not itself a videogame or RPG. The novels are quite clear on the fact that the story is taking place in an actual "reality" and the Nazarick crew put quite a bit of effort into studying exactly how certain "game mechanics" they knew from Yggdrasil changed as a result of the fact they're no longer in a game. There's also an alternate timeline novel where Ainz was transported to the new world without Nazarick that has some details on how exactly elements from a videogame were brought to this world and made manifest.
You might enjoy our Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth II War of the Ring Campaign - livestream on the gaming channel; we jumped into the game and basically talked about wartime strategy and tried different ones out in the game. We even planted Malon Trees in Mordor to assert dominance (we played as the Elves).
