The reason Lizzie Borden was acquitted was because there was a 20 minute window between Andrew's death and Lizzie being seen. So she would have had to murder her father, clean herself off completely, and get rid of the murder weapon without alerting the maid washing windows. The hatchet they found in the basement had the handle broken off, but it wasn't a fresh break. The prosecution tried to say Lizzie did the murder completely naked, then put clean clothes on to hide the blood. Mind you, this is in a house with no running water.
What was in it for the uncle to kill them? He wouldn't have inherited anything. Lizzie and her sister would have and did inherit everything, since her father died last. And is Lizzie's house on the hill privately owned? Lizzie's house, especially if she was the culprit, would be very interesting to visit; especially since neither Lizzie nor her sister haunt the Lizzie Borden House.
Its about the black death, i went on a ghost tour in Edinburgh and went down the underground streets which were blocked up with the residents inside during the plague to try and stop the spread and the guide told us thats where ring a roses comes from. The "house" are actually just underground caves and in one theres a ghost of a wee girl who will tug on your clothes and people leave her dolls.@@lisascorp

La la love your podcast so much! Have you ever read Stillhouse Lake: Stillhouse Lake, Book 1? Scariest book I have ever read about what happens to the family of a serial killer. I must not be alone as the amazon reviews for the first book are 85,157 and then drop down to 39,359 for the second book because the first book was just too effing scary. So this is "morbid" but wouldn't it be interesting to hear about the true life challenges faced by the family of serial killers? Look forward to your podcast every week. Best to you both.
