Lizzy Mercier Descloux - Fire (1979) French TV with Gainsbourg 

Had to be the coolest woman on the planet at the time.

She deserves to be much much better known. I never even heard of her before a few hours ago and I just listened to the first three records and she is an absolutely unique artist. She makes me think of some other alien visionaries like Bjork and Kate Bush and Bowie.

This is perfect example of a great cover. You have the backbone of the Arthur Brown song and the rest (the sound, the rhythm, the vibe) is all Lizzy!

I love Lizzy. She got me into a whole new world of music in my early twenties. I remember hearing Torso Corso for the first time, a minute long track that completely blew my mind and changed my taste in music for many years to come.

I met her, knew her. My friends were in a band with her. She was an amazing force.

Such a beautiful woman she was and such a lovely voice she had!.. ZERecords, I love you!

Just saw this version of this song used in a Johnnie Walker booze commercial... I am used to the Arthur Brown version, so this caught me totally off guard and I had to come look for it.
