This week I am testing to see what it takes to set the fabric in resin to create coasters. This takes two resin pours and a lot of smoothing and working to get the bubbles out and the fabric flat. I tested this with other fabrics and learned a lot. In this video, I am trying it again to see if this is a coaster idea for my shop and If I can get it to turn out better.
The tool I used is available on Amazon.

I found a useful tool for new RU-vidrs. I just started using TubeBuddy to help me with my RU-vid channel. It helps with keyword searches, quick links within the RU-vid Channel platform, shows me video performance, and overall has helped my videos get exposure when using the tools in TubeBuddy. Within a day, I saw an increase in views on the videos that I reworked using some of the tools in TubeBuddy. I am still exploring more and I highly recommend anyone with a RU-vid channel, especially those just starting or those who have hit a "brick wall" to try TubeBuddy. Use my link and see for yourself.

This was a fun project. I like how these turned out. It was a lot of work smoothing the fabric out. If you plan on doing this, I recommend getting the tool that I used, the link is in the description, and take your time working with it. Get a long work time resin so you have plenty of time. A vacuum chamber is not necessary but will make it much easier if the resin is bubble-free before you begin. Thank you for watching and please hit the like button and subscribe to help y channel grow. Thank You!!

Really random, I moved from UK to NZ, have no sewing skills, but bought some patterned fabric in a shop that I just really liked and couldn’t resist. I just might make some of these using it to then post back home to family 🥰 thank you for your video 😊

I like your projects and how creative you are with the resin. My only issue is with the constant music. It would be so much better if you would do away with the music and just narrate what you are doing. I would prefer dead silence between narrations over the music. Other than that, great projects and great work!

These are adorable! If I might ask, what do you wipe them down with after sanding them? I'm new to resin and have a ton to learn so I'm watching a lot of videos to help me on my journey. Love the video, TFS ❤

I just use isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth.

What if we don't want the sides to be as big as that is it achievable

If you don't want it to be as thick, pour less resin and experiment with it to get your desired size.

Did you seal the fabric with anything before you added it to the resin? I am trying to do a project with my FIL’s old ties as a Christmas present. I use UV resin.

No, I don't seal it with anything. It works great. The only time I would seal the item is if it will run color or oils, depending on what it is. Fabric has been good every time without sealing it. Sorry about the delayed response, I had major surgery and just got back into things. I hope your project turned out.

180 usually. Unless I need to take off a lot, then I use 100.
