A first look at my 2019 Indian Chief Dark Horse 116 with Lloydz 585 Cams. I also have TAB Performance BAM Sticks, Zombie Baffled with torque cones installed. Mapped with Dynojet Power Vision 3 with a tune from Ryan at Lloyz Garage. Have a listen.

Yes I know I like the performance, first I did exhaust then stage 1. Next was headers and auto tuner with wideband. Now I just had cam swap with all S&S parts on my HD. Thought I would be happy with that and I am. But I'm already thinking about a big bore top end or stage 3 lol

Why no description on how it rides. Was the throttle response smooth, choppy? Was there more low end torque, top end pull? What rpm did the power drop off or at all?

Any issues with California emissions with this build? Seriously considering in doing a similar build.

Nice video and I will wait your demo ride of the challenger to compares it with your bike . Can you describe more the vibration ,do you feel it in the foot peg and at what rpm the vibration started ?

Humaid Ibrahim ... Thank you. I actually rode the Challenger as well as the FTR-S this past weekend at a demo day this past weekend at Hollister Powersports. To be honest, it’s hard to get a good power comparison on a controlled test ride but I was able to get on it for a couple of short bursts. Possibly it sound of the Zombie Slip-Ons but I felt my air cooled v-twin to be more sinister. As a long distance cruiser the challenger was so very smooth and comfortable. I hit a pretty good pothole and noticed a huge difference in how well the inverted front forks on the Challenger performed compared to my bike. Shifting on the Challenger was smoother and less deliberate. I also noticed that it performed better in slow tight turns. My Chief has about 4% more rake and the stock lower handlebars. The Challenger it rode had mid risers. The vibration with the 585 cams seems to be all the way threw the power band and gears, were I didn’t have it before until I hit 100mph. It’s a different vibration as well ... the best I can describe it is the difference between fine and course grit sand paper. The 585 cams being a course vibration. It’s not obnoxious, I even enjoy it. Like I said, “it feels sinister”. I hope that helps. Yesterday I did a video going through the gears and will post it likely over the weekend. I noticed right away the difference in shifting / upper rpm delivery with Lloydz cams. Where I used to shift to 6th gear at about 80mph, I now shift into 6th at about 95 - 100mph at rapid acceleration.

I should also say that I’m getting a good amount of deceleration popping which I think means that even though I think Lloydz garage provided me the best tune possible without an actual dino, It’s was developed in an entirely different environment. It’s very humid in North Carolina or New York than California where I live. I think I could possibly get even better performance with remote or mapping.

@@kevinthomas9171 It is a high frequency vibration or slow as stock? Or if you rode a scout bobber how you can compare it with your bike. because I have knee injury and the scout vibration is killing me and I thinking of the Springfield 116. Ofcourse the 585 cam will be the first upgrade after my warranty expires.

I'm drooling and grinning at the same time! Just bought a springfield 116 and want to put these in it! I'm wondering what the stage 2 kit comes with in the way of cams, do you know? Should I just get the stage 1 with the intake and exhaust tubes and then the 585's or forego the stage 1 kit and get something else? Looking at the Peace Pipe exhaust from dirtybirdconcepts... those with the 585s would be KILLER!!

Stage 2 kit for the 116 comes with the same cams from the Stage 3 kit for the 111. The Lloydz 585 cams have very near the same lift the "stage 3" cams do...but no specs on duration or LSA. Also haven't seen too many comparison dyno runs between a 116 with the 585 or stage 3 cams to know if there's a large difference. If it were me, do the stage 1 kit and, if you want cams and want to keep the warranty, get the stage 2 kit for your bike to get the big cams and throttle body. Try to do exhaust other than the Indian stage 1 stuff...Rinehart pipes sound great and the dealer likely sells them so it shouldn't interfere with the warranty.

Tunedude54 ... sorry for the delayed response. I had done all stages, including the stage 3 big bore 116. The 585 cams has been the most noticeable jump in performance ... crazy power. Shifting went from about 3500rpm to 4500rpm ... loving it.

Hi Kevin, have you had any issues since running the 585s in the 116? Just curious. I have a CDH with a 116 and was wanting to drop the 585s in mine.

Hello Joseph, so far my only issue has been all smiles. That said I’ve only put about 4K in mileage since the upgrade.

How did they effect fuel economy… lol other than not having self control ripping the throttle more often…

Hey I got the Indian BBK. I was wondering just how much of a difference the cams made. I mean I’m going to get the bike dynoed if I install the cams. Just trying to justify the cost. Is it a substantial difference and have you dynoed the bike ?
@kevinthomas9171
@kevinthomas9171 3 года назад
I’ve done a lot of performance upgrades, including the BBK but nothing more noticeable than the 585 cams. Biggest bump in power performance and sound

@@kevinthomas9171 do you have a map for those cams for the pv3? i returned my 585 before install because noone near me would provide a tune, so i went with the stock stage 2 for the 116
