We have a large Korean population in Maryland. Many own their own retail businesses. When the Freddie Grey riots broke loose in Baltimore, and the government dragged it's feet protecting the citizens, Korean shop owners stood on their roof tops brandishing firearms to protect their livelihood. A perfect example of why we need the 2nd amendment - a right the liberal progressive democratic party in Maryland hates.

It took years of convincing by channels like this and many tragic events, both personal and societal, but even I was convinced to recently become a gun owner. I never thought I'd even touch a loaded weapon in my life, and now I keep a loaded pistol at all times. I'm not terribly interested in a long-range gun battles or hunting, but I can't just watch someone bleed out in front of me who doesn't deserve it again, nor do I want to be bleeding out myself any time soon if I can do something about it. To be clear, I never thought that someone else shouldn't own a gun if they wanted one and didn't want to commit crimes with it. I simply had more immediate uses my money and didn't want any legal hoop jumping to deal with. Some cops and other uneducated folk tend to get spooked by guys who look like me so I figured I'd rather not give them any further ground to blow a whistle or throw up a red flag. I also did not feel good about Glock pistols given I woke up to one inches from my eye. For years I couldn't get the image burned of that damned, plastic, blocky thing with the death circle facing my way out of my head when I wanted to sleep. I associated a Glock with someone that wants to kill me for no good reason. Then I bought a Glock, shot it a few thousand times, and sleep more securely with it right next to me. Between it and the motion sensors, I think I won't be waking up on the wrong side of a barrel ever again. Looking back, I was terrified when the clerk handed me an unloaded Glock to feel in the gun store, I don't think I ever shook so much or felt so much fear in my life, even back when one was pointed my way. I probably was starting to spook the clerk since I couldn't hear him or my friend talking to me anymore, I was in full flashback to everything that had happened. Holding the very thing that someone was willing to use on me, my family and friends was hard to describe, but then I realized that the best way to deal with it was having my own. I knew I had to overcome that fear in that moment or be paralyzed in that spot forever looping those bad memories. I immediately started the purchase process right then and there. I gotta put this out there, don't be hostile to someone who's afraid of a gun, you don't know what they've been through or why they feel that way until they tell you. Try to explain why having a gun or at least knowing how to safely handle any they have access to is the best way they can personally protect themselves and others from bad guys and irresponsible folk who have guns. Yes, it is an inanimate object, but objects get associated with people that use them. When only the bad guys seem to have guns, guns become a bad thing psychologically. So more good people should have guns and demonstrate their safe and proper use.

Victory against gun control looks like all of the tyrants are locked up, dead or in fear. That would be victory.

Don't forget one of the reasons for 2A is that a government afraid of its citizens cannot take their freedoms away from them.

Eric, it's thanks to firearm RU-vid channels like yours that so many people are able to learn about guns and gun rights. These days, many people's introduction into the world of firearms is through RU-vid. People no longer need to be born on a farm to appreciate the 2A anymore.

My reply to a Tweet from a member of Mom's Demand Action.... If you want to reduce/end gun violence, put MORE guns in the hands of law abiding citizens. Once the criminal believes their prey is armed a can defend themselves, they are much less likely to attack that citizen. Legalized Constitutional Carry Nationally would be a good START!!

Thank goodness our founders were intelligent, well read and we're aware of and considered the writing of Cesar Beccaria who recognized that in disarming the citizens will result in only crooks having arms leaving citizens unable to defend themselves.

Gun owners should be out protesting in front of the ATF offices & agents homes, just like the pro abortion people are doing, because of the leaked SCOTUS brief on Roe v Wade. I think they're are wrong bout abortion, but they are being heard. We should be protesting, & heard too.

Not even close. Some states have moved to constitutional carry but there are just as many other states that have implemented things like magazine capacity limits ( and continue to push for more, looking at you CT)

Georgia isn’t the slowest to adopt new things. Idaho takes the cake for that title. It’s still illegal to possess cannabis, and it’s not decriminalized. I am extremely pro gun and also quite libertarian when it comes to drugs. The government shouldn’t have ANY jurisdiction over what I put into my body, or how I protect myself.

I'm the 80's & 90's you also had the introduction of Glock and other polymer striker fired pistol that were much easier to carry.

I had a felony when I was 17, I am now 76 and it is still on my records and I can’t “legally “ purchase a pistol!!!

In my opinion and this is an opinion. I think the the winds of change started before Rudy ridge/Waco. As I was grew up in the late 70s and 80’s I remember never hearing much about gun rights until I started hearing about gun rights and conceal carrying after the McDonald’s shooting’84, Postal shootings and especially right after the Luby’s shooting in 91 where Ms Hupp who survived the shooting had left her.38 in the car due to fear of being prosecuted for conceal carry as there were no right to carry at the time. Texas finally woke up and passed laws allowing residents to carry but sadly California went the opposite way.

Survival training, I believe, began to emerge in 1957 right after Khrushchev made his declaration, "I will BURY YOU", in nuclear weapons and war. The schools began training how to survive nuclear fallout. Underground shelters were being built, food & water storage surged, masks, some people headed out West to get away from the target cities, etc. Missouri and Kansas were full of Minute Man missile silos. It was kind of scary for a future veteran at age six. We were just a little over ten years of post WWII. In 1962, it got even more scary with the Cuban missile crisis. Ahhhh, the good ole' days.

It's the snow birds in Florida that are holding the state back. I grew up in Florida (38 year's) prior to moving to Ohio 4 years ago, and I can tell you at least 1/3 of folks in Florida are from northern states like New York, we had a ton of New Yorker's in Pinellas County. In my opinion Florida is a prime example of people bringing their politics with them.
