Chances are someone knows what key opens what - if one person had the master key, they'd make the other person go first.

Nicholas Garcia what opens what is controlled by magnets in them, the master key is obvious as it will have that at all 3 spots, the single prize ones are one each, the dud has nothing and opens no prize If somebody had the master key first, lmad would force the other player going first because that key is obvious and would force the program to break early. If it is master key+ single prize the show would still force the single key first as that will hold priority Master key+dud ends the game early along with the segment, so that scenario is not used by production Price predetermines who holds what and mike determines who wins what with each of the 70+ games in the active rotation; so all outcomes are controlled by cbs and Fremantle to prevent excessively paying out the prize fund

Euhm cuz the first key was only for the first lock. The second key didnt work on the 2nd lock, but might on the 3th. Cuz it didnt work on the 2nd lock it wasnt the master key. Thats why.....

The keys are identical. They're just props for the game. The keys are set up on the rack for a particular prize and the backroom crew knows which keys are which. When a key is picked that wins a prize, it "unlocks" the lock via the flip of a switch in the control room.

@@moonport1 That's not true. The keys are equipped with small magnets that link up with a magnet in the lock. One key has a magnet for the first prize, one for the second, one for the third, the master key has three magnets and the dud key has no magnets.

And the announcer is okay but Rich Fields is just AMAZING. No one can say "IT'S A NEW CAR!" like he can.
