Thanks Vlad, I've got an used Porter Cable Generator, that I got running, but it's been running very rough, just had this little Hurricane Irma come through & been without power for a few days, and it has been a challenge to keep it running properly, and just like you described, I have to keep the choke partially on , I've cleaned it on the machine, and taken the bowl off, etc... But I need to take the carb off completely, for a thorough cleaning, including the air jets. Thanks again!
Most likely is not the air jets but the little fuel jets which you cant clean. I have some other videos how to clean them but sometimes I just give up and buy new carb.
@@VladFredK These carbs are fully rebuildable with a kit. The main things are to clean the jets under the Welsh plug. The one air jet you clean connects to these jets under the Welsh plug. If you look at the carb closely, you can see where the air jets go. To do a full clean, you have to remove the one ball plug and tap the hole for a screw plug. If you do it right, it is easy and like a new carb. You shouldn't ever have to throw them away unless the body is trash. It costs $40 to rebuild and $170 to replace.
The idle jets are not clean. If you close the throttle plate you will see little pin holes in front of the plate. They'r impossible to clean. Search youtube for how to clean carburetor idle jets. Almost all carb idle jets are same. I should have a video or two also.
Do you by chance have the model number for the Walbro Carb your working on in this Video. I watched a different clip someone else made where it was mentioned its best to replace a Nikki with this one to resolve some inherent issues associated with the OEM Carb that comes on my Troy Built 5550 Generator...
