Hello viewers, I am Dr. Amit Mandal and in this video I am explaining a technical topic in a lucid way.
Logarithmic mean temperature difference is the average temperature difference flowing through a heat exchanger. The fluids (hot and cold) enters with a temperature difference and comes out with difference temperature difference between them. In heat transfer equation i.e., Q= UAdT , in place of dT we have to keep a unique temperature difference however the temperature difference of the fluids continuously changes with the advance of the fluids. Therefore we have to keep the average of all (infinite) temperature differences called as LMTD . In this lecture there is an easy way to derive the equation of LMTD.
