Modern trains lack all sense of occassion. This particular electric thing looks very French SNCF and bland for it. Contrast this very quiet departure with a Pacific Class steam loco, whistle, deep huff and chuff as the steam pistons set in motion and see the smoke and steam snorting from the great beast of a machine and there is a huge sense of occassion.
@JonDingle don't quote me on it but I believe BR got Inspiration from the French for the design of these. However they aren't very modern anymore being built in 1988 - 1991. They're currently on borrow time and only have until 2027 before being scrapped. Thank you for the comment 😊
