I love these guitar tone tutorials especially how there is so little/no production tutorials for black metal, and it's quite good to know all these plug ins for the lo fi and the clean black metal guitar tones although could you make a video on better quality atmospheric black metal type of tone? If you could show how you would EQ the guitar too that would be awesome!
+Andres Gonzalez Thank you for the kind words. Initially I was hesitant about the black metal stuff, since there isn't too many tutorials, but it seems like there's a demand for that, so I'll definitely keep up with it. Would you give me some sample tracks on what kind of guitar tone you're looking for exactly?
+Ryyka I think it's a good thing you decided to do some because of how little there are. Here are some samples: Uada - Natus Eclipsim, Watain - Malfeitor, Mgla - Exercises in Futility V. Pretty much a good quality full sounding black metal guitar like not too distorted, nor muddy and you can here each note pretty well yet not too crazily over produced. Regardless if you do make a video for something like this that would be greatly appreciated by my part haha
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost my password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
Absolutely, I've been thinking about this for a long time. Or something like, recording the noise of a casette playing, then putting it over the recording. Will make a video about this. Thanks!
If I were to use a DI track, and record, say, 5 parts, and I only want 2 parts LoFi, how would I do that? Does LoFizer apply to the whole song or just one part?
For some reason i can't download Lo Fizer, due to the download website that is apparently dangerous, other downloads didn't work. Could you give me a download link for the plugin please ?
Thank you for pointing this out, I should've added a download link earlier. I took a look and I couldn't download anything from that website currently either, however Lo-Fizer is freeware, so I put the .dll into a Google Drive folder, you can download it from the link in the description or add it directly to your Drive. Thank you again, cheers!
I don't really know Cubase, but there should be an option somewhere, where you can see all the adjustable parameters inside a vst and then automate them.
If you want shit tones, it's as simple as buying a Line8 Spider III and an SM-58 mic. The SM58 shouldn't be used on a guitar cabinet, but it's the first mic all these guys bought. The line6 shouldn't even exist, but it's ALSO the first amp these guys bought. Together you can make shit ass sounds all day long.
Black Metal is about playing raw and recording raw. The fact that you're EQing and using effects "to make lo-fi black metal" completely goes against the idea. Disgraceful.
You can do the same stuff, but nowadays, it's easier to record directly into the daw, then use whatever you have to create the sound you're looking for. You can use tapes, and analogue stuff but I think this way it's quicker and more simple.
Mind you this can be done with just an audio interface, a cheap guitar, and a cable hardware wise, and a pirated daw and vsts software wise. That is the most lo-fi kvlt you can get.
