In 1971 my bro-in-law ordered a Lemans Sport Convertible. But his had everything in it that this one has but it had a Muncie 4 speed. It was a baby blue with white interior and top. It was one of the most beautiful cars I had ever seen. And for a 350 it really ran pretty damned good. The 350s they put in these cars were not the run of the mill because they were 4 bolt main high output engines. I got to borrow the car a couple of times and had a fucking blast. I wanted that car so bad when he finally got rid of it but I didn't have the money that someone else did. He sold that car almost for what he paid for it 6 years and 67,K later.
Nice looking convertible! To clarify, the GTO option was only available on the coupe’s (whether post or hardtop). One could order a 1972 Lemans with the Endura bumper for a ‘GTO look’. ‘72 GTOs came with either a 400 CID or 455 CID (HO) engine. GTO not equipped with a 350. PHS will show what this car fitted with from factory. GLWS.
Thanks.... Ohh yeah definitely, these Lemans Sports went under the Radar since new. I think it was an alternative to the GTO to save buyers on insurance money... Just a Cool Car, Great Options and a Great Bang for the Buck!
