Since you seemed to really like the loud pipes videos, I was thinking to myself "what could I serve you this week".
So I checked my hard drive and found this previously unreleased material which I've recorded when I was filming the "Concrete Transport In Style" video with Zsolzsol (Bendes Trans) last year: • Concrete Transport In ...
This is a pretty nice Scania R620 V8 with manual gearbox, loud pipes, bullbar and many other sweet things you can see in the other video. ;)
On that day we hauled a flatbed trailer with some concrete blocks on it.
This weekend probably we'll have a truck meeting so next week I'm possibly coming with an aftermovie. ;)

There's an exhaust valve which can be switched from the cab. 😉 So you can choose between loud V8 sound or just basic silent trucking. 👌

Is this a synchronized transmission, or is it an unsynchronized like the Eaton Fuller (Roadranger)? I've been doing some research, but i'm having trouble finding specifics from the Euro market.

It is synchronized. 😄 12+2 speed range-splitter gearbox. 3 gears in low range, 3 gears in high range, and all of them can be split. Plus it has 2 crawler gears, that's the "+2". 😄

@@zivaTARY Thank you!!! I'm not sure why trucks here in the US haven't switched to synchronized gear boxes. I have seen arguments both for and against, but I can't find any real data or comparisons.

I don't get it why Americans love V8 engines but all the semi trucks are 6 cylinders they used to have a V8 and v12 engine back then but now there all boring 6 cylinder engines

Everything is about price and parts quantity. 6 injectors, one head, less electronic, velvets and bearings. There is always challenge between Scania and Volvo and Volvo with fh16 beats V8 in power. Last a few years is also challenge to make engine with good emissions, look Caterpillar does not make trucks engines any more for most of destinations because emissions doesn't fit regulations. I drive v12 air-cooled and have to fit hydrogen system to meet emissions.
