My father also had the 141(V8) model, he was an international truck driver, I always made the first start when I was little. I liked the smell of smoke coming from the exhaust..My father died in 2010 and I miss him so much..
SCANIA 142 log truck was the first western car that I got to know after Gaz, Kamaz and zil trucks. Volvo F12 was also seen, but Scania was the first to sit in the cabin. And left an indelible impression on how such a truck should look, sound and drive.
Egal welche Marke.
I'm 60 now lost licence due to health probs,I spent many years running to Stranraer in these fantastic motors ,just the sound gives me goose bumps and great memories of the a75 old road ,thru Dumfries ,gate house of fleet ,glenluce bridge stopped a few !!!. Crazy times at 70 + miles an hour with inches between you and the oncoming trucks,it sorted the drivers from the screw drivers , best wishes to all the old boys ,first one to the moss cafe wins 50 quid ha hah
I drove this truck seven years and about six hundred thousand kilometres..Well,mine was six cylinder with 360 horses..Changed just oil, tyres and belts..Always started imidiatelly I never doubt a second ,that it will start as well again!!!
i may be from the United States but damn those scania v8s from that era sound absolutely top notch they sound very familiar to a catapillar 3408 with a similar idle and overall engine revs
And she's alive!! Love these old trucks more than anything, really enjoyed the video, i recently brought alive a grand cherokee '94 5.2 v8 after sitting since 2017.
It seems from videos I've seen that most vehicles, cars and trucks, if they've been sitting for five years or less, it's not hard to get them started. As with the truck in this video. I agree that the sound of the V8 diesel engine of the truck in this video is beautiful.
Parabéns pra vocês aqui do Brasil!
Impressive the fact of starting the engine in such a sort time as well the air pressure level.... although it is so many years out of service the air pressure reached 9 bars
Beautyfull to see that this mastodont is running again . Engine sounds lovely and strong . I have work for him in the woods in the south of france . Kind regards ! 👍😊
The truck simply still it works! even after so long, it still works. Flexiny simply got in, started the engine and was on his way. Not considering the problems with the exchange rate, of course.
the 142 v8 was a drivers dream back when you had to change gears and use the clutch loved the trailer brake handle myself saved me a few times that scania will always be the best tool on the road
When I saw a far back view of the full truck my mind went "Wait a minute, that's a log bunk! That's a logging crane on the back too! Holy moly that thing was haulin' wood back in its workin' days!"
I have several uncles who are loggers here in the USA. They have trucks 🚚 much larger than this one. Here in Upper Michigan they can gross out to 180,000 pounds 😮😊
Wow, that machine took a lot of work huh. Due to the time stopped, it would certainly give that work. even more a SCANIA that is an excellent truck. congratulations for the videos.
How is that possible never after 5 yrs it starts straight up 😮 i expected the usual lots of cranking wow ..great videos guys i liked the mercades 814 i think you had lit of fun at the bus stops ..excelent !!!
