If you want an easier cut, gallon jugs (the plastic is less stiff so even if you screw up edge alignment it will burst) and cardboard milk cartons are easier, and pool noodles don't have any resistant weight if you can stand them up.
You know, I honestly thought the duck feeding segment was literally just "hey guys, lets go to the park! Bring the camera!" You guys put a lot more thought into that than I gave you credit for.
It's easy if you use a blade with an edge. The edge alignment looks fine so that seems as if the thing didn't even have a real edge. At 60$, it's probably just a blank (or the most garbage sword ever made).
I think "The Cribs" episode Beej referenced was actually Redman's Newark house. Apparently, MTV wanted him to rent a place for the show and he refused.
I hate to bring this up after the fact, but you really need to hone the edge of any store bought sword if you wanna actually cut through something. Second, Alex swinging AT the bottle, not THROUGH the bottle. It seemed like his swing was meant to make contact and not to cut.
I kind of want to see the wor sword hanging under the LRR logo on the wall in the Moonbase. Also, the Best Buy you guys have is baller. I live near Daytona Beach and ours is small and rinky-dink.
Oh, then you HAVE to watch their AFK Heroquest streams on LoadingReadyLive; they've done, like, half-a-dozen so far, and they're always great. Taking me back to the early 90s.
HEMA practitioners cut water bottles as practice because you have to have a sharp sword and good edge alignment to cut cleanly through and leave the bottom of the bottle sitting there.

You should get Skallagrim to coach you on your sword technique. He lives not far off from where you are, if I remember correctly.
If you want to cut through a bottle you shouldn't use a 60$ sword. Try this one if you want to instead: www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=PC1012&name=Hanwei+Warlord+Dadao Cold Steel is an awful company for swords, Hanwi is much better. Also regardless you should probably give it a bit of a sharpen before you use it. So if you don't want to drop 150$ (US) on a sword just try to get someone to sharpen the other one. Or use Google and find out for yourself.
+Charles Ruberl The whole joke we were doing kinda centers around Cold Steel specifically, and their dumb videos of cutting pop bottles. I'm sure we'll do it eventually.
