In this Video I try my best to explain hoe the USAF Loadmaster pipeline works. When I was doing my research on the subject I could not find a lot of information and I hope this clears some stuff up for those of you who are interested in becoming a Loadmaster

Can you explain the differences between the missions of all the different C-130s? And what different jobs you wouldn’t be expected to fulfill?
@mikey9105
@mikey9105 Год назад
There is AFSOC missions, rescue missions, and “regular” cargo moving missions.
@mikey9105

And would you care to elaborate on what you mean by jobs you wouldn’t be expected to fulfil ?

Would you be able to have the choice to switch bases eventually?
@mikey9105
@mikey9105 24 дня назад
@@Caro-nk4oh yes. Most people will be at their first base anywhere from 4-6 years. It is likely to expect a rotation at a formal training unit. I.E Altus, Littlerock, or Kelly. (Not sure for AFSOC or other FE/ BOOM jobs) but it is a job that moves decently often and has more than just those “regular” airframes to go to after you’ve flown a while.

I got the job for Mobility Force Aviator, and Im also hoping to get on C17 and end up at Charleston, I leave for basic in a couple weeks and Im just wondering if you have any advice when it comes to getting the plane and base I want

So I don’t know how it works officially with the new MFA AFSC. But when I went through they gave you a sheet of paper with bases and airframes and you listed what you wanted to most and what you wanted the least. Most of my class got 1st and 2nd picks. And only one person got their third pick. That being said they combined 3 AFSCs into one so I’m not sure how they will divide up the airframes/ jobs in the future. Hope this helps in some way.

im confident in everything but math.. is the math during the 2 month school any algebra or above? or literally basic math
@mikey9105
@mikey9105 Год назад
It is Basic math. I was also concerned myself when I went through the school, but not only do the instructors teach it to you at about a 5th or 6th grade level, you'll come to find out that you will be given the math formulas to use your entire Loadmaster career. not to mention once you get to your actual air frame most of the work can be done for you electronically. just study and practice and you'll be fine.

I am Mobility Force Aviator, so assuming it is similar to Loadmaster pipeline. What is the math like? Algebra?
@mikey9105
@mikey9105 3 месяца назад
The math is super simple. If you can do addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division then you will do just fine. There are a few rules when it comes to how to round some numbers. But your instructors will teach you what those rules are and when to apply them. I struggled with math all of my life, so I was worried about the math portion when I got to basic loadmaster school, but I ended up doing very well with the math, so I wouldn’t worry about that too much.

Are you doing the full 20? And what did you do before becoming a loadmaster?
@mikey9105
@mikey9105 Год назад
Not sure yet, And I was a 2S0X1 Material Manager or “Supply”
@Yunggblake
@Yunggblake Год назад
Gotcha. Only asking about the 20 because I was wondering what loadmaster would qualify me for in the civilian world and was curious if you would have to go down that path if you were getting out. Also so far, how is loadmaster compared to material management?
@mikey9105
@mikey9105 Год назад
@@Yunggblake I’ll be honest with you. Loadmaster will more than likely not set you up with a directly transferred job in the civilian world because of the nature of the job. Material management on the other hand transfers very well into the civilian and private sectors. I personally was looking for more job satisfaction while I’m in the military, and I found that in the Loadmaster career field because I’m able to directly impact people’s life’s by the nature of my job. Material management had it’s cool jobs in the military as well. All in all it depends on how much effort you put into what you do that will help open up opportunities both in and out side of the military

Hey so I really wanna get this job but my vision isn’t really the best when looking at things far away, would that stop me from getting this job??

Is your vision correctable up to 20/20 when wearing glasses ?
@isaaccollins6436
@isaaccollins6436 Год назад
I haven’t worn glasses in years 😭 but I’m guess from your reply if it’s 20/20 with glasses then you should be good?
@mikey9105
@mikey9105 Год назад
@@isaaccollins6436 yes. As long as your vision is correctable to 20/20 you should be fine, the toughest part is getting in with that… after that, there are many waivers for many things
