Chatsworth are excellent boots. High quality and last forever. I have a dark brown and a black pair. The Chatsworth model is made in Northamptonshire, England (not India) - it states this on the boot and on the Loake website. Some other Loake models are made in India but not the Chatsworth. Totally agree with you regarding the price v quality, other brands selling the same quality as the Chatsworth were much more costly. I reviewed all the brands in Jermyn Street and the Loakes were by far the best option for the price. Have used Loake’s for years and have always been extremely happy with them.

Good review. I have a pair of these boots and they are nice and comfortable. English leather, English made. I bought a pair of Newbury's by Loake and they are made in India, I was disappointed with them and Loake would not change them. Thankfully the shop where I purchased them from did look after me and gave me a credit note for the full amount.

Can you help? What’s the difference between the Loake Coppergate from the company website and the Loake Chattsworth from The Nordstrom website? Which do you recommend?
@Kudusole
@Kudusole Год назад
Loak Chatsworth has wider last with Dainite soles. And coppergate is narrower with leather soles. I would buy depending on your width and preference.

I had a pair of these. They split at the crease. I tried to get them repaired but the cobbler said it was impossible as the leather was cheap.

If you were in London and on Jermny St you had Crockett and Jones, Lobb or Edward Green never mind Barker, Church, Grenson or Tricker's to choose from, C&J or Green would have been my choice all be it they are a tad more expensive. However Loakes are not made in England any more and have not for years, they may be designed in England but are made in India.

I see! I didnt know that Loake factory is in India now

@@Kudusole Loake Chatsworths are made in England. It says so on the inside of the boot. Cheaper models are made in India but the premium ones including Chatworths are made in England. A great boot

Chelsea is the boot form of loafer. Chelsea and loafers designed for people who don't prefer laces.

Chatsworth are very narrow and take a while to break in to. The vamp is slightly too elongated for my height.

Tend to disagree. I owned a pair and you're better off getting RM Williams or Cheaney. The side gussets are trash on these and the leather is just much lower quality than the price, also the insole/cork is so thin than you can feel each knob from the dainite sole through the footbed. Better off spending a little more on other brands.
@Kudusole
@Kudusole 3 года назад
I mean those other brands quality HAS to be better because often they are 1.5 ~ 2 times more expensive than these Chatsworths. I agree that the quality of the previous chelsea boots I reviewed, called Mitchum, is literally so bad. But with these I can't feel the knobs and I am around 250 lb! I really want to try RM Williams and want to compare with these or other chelseas I own. Thanks for the input!

@@Kudusole Yep, I think it's worth spending the extra money for the RMs for a more casual Chelsea and the Cheaney for a more dressy. On the dainite, basically the cork layer was way too thin.

That’s incorrect, I haven’t experienced that with mine in the slightest. They also polish up very, very nicely. Mine have minimal creasing and the sole feels good. Also very resistant to mud, I’ve worn them shooting or hiking several times. In addition the side gussets on mine seem to be more resilient than what I’ve seen on non-waffle side gussets of other boots.

RM Williams are a much superior brand, better quality leathers, they are a whole cut and also the uppers are not made in India 👌

Not English made. Even in the 1880 range all uppers are clicked, cut and stitched in India. Extremely misleading.
@Konsul135
@Konsul135 2 года назад
Do you have a source for that? According to Loake's website the whole 1880 range (which the Chatsworth are a part of ) is made in their Kettering (Northamptonshire) factory

@herb2078
@herb2078 2 года назад
@@thetruebrit85 do your research. It’s common knowledge in the industry, do a factory tour there’s no clicking or cutting operation in action in the factory. Even better ask their staff in the shops. People are brand loyal and get butt hurt when their special little brand that they’ve invested into are not what they believe them to be. It is what it is 🤷‍♂️
