It is because students who enroll in a public university in Germany do not have to worry about paying expensive tuition fees. However, like few other countries, You are required to transfer money equivalent to one year's living expenses to Germany in advance before the Visa process. The German embassy asks the students to open a blocked account before they apply for the visa.

Since the master programme in Germany is for two years, I have heard that the banks will only disburse half of your loan amount in the first year and then the rest in the second year. Is it really true?

I mean I heard they will only transfer fee directly to university and amount needed for blacked account directly to blocked account. Hi Rina, You have to disburse the whole amount from blocked account and then if you want, after 6 months, you can return the amount with interest accumulated to the bank

Hy, I wanted to do my pg in germany and I didn't had any fund for my blocked account for that I contacted 2-3 banks such as sbi, federal bank and canara bank.. there was a negative response from the manager.. I wanted to arrive at a descission to either prepare for studies abroad or stop my studies. My father has a property worth of 30 lacks and 2 hose in it one is rented out and one in which we live in.. the problem is that both of them is not concrete roof and that was the problem in my loan proposal they said that I couldn't get a loan of the amount morethan 7 lack... I'm really stressed and I don't know what to do. My parents are planning to sell our only land and house so I could fulfill my dreams.. I don't want to be a burden for them.. it is for 2 years but if you get lucky and manage your 2nd year expenses by doing part time jobs then you MIGHT be granted your visa on that and you won't be needing blocked account for 2nd year although it would be good to have it as backup.
