Lobster Rolls & Clam Digging on PEI with Matty Matheson - Keep It Canada

In this episode of Keep it Canada, Matty heads to Prince Edward Island to meet a potato farmer, go clam-digging, eat a whole lot of lobster rolls, and cook for his new Islander friends on the beach. He has what may be the best lobster in all of North America, which is due to cooling the cooked lobster in seawater. Matty finds out the hard way why clam digging can be dangerous work, but after a clam boil he comes out the victor.

I’ve been working on a farm for around 10 years now. Let me say this, it’s not always the easiest job but watching what you’ve planted and tended to start to sprout and eventually turn into profit? Hell of a feeling. Great video. Matty is my spirit animal.

king crab is expensive everywhere..but in alaska we pay like 8.99$ a lb to 12.99$ a lb...in lower 48 it would be like 30$ a lb or more..we get king an red salmon for like 3.99$-7.99$ a lb..good luck finding it under 15-20$ a lb in lower 48 unless you are in maybe seattle or portland. or farmed salmon..yuck..lets dye it so it has red meat..lol gross..

I went clam digging in PEI about 6 years ago. I think it might've been this boat, to this island. Best meal I ever had - maybe second, to a good maritime lobster boil. 1 fresh out of the shell, 5 or 6 steamed and a couple random crab pieces (like he said "we'll keep a couple tro' em in da pot") and I was stuffed. "More people should do this"
