Brushing breaks tiny hairs as you do it. You will only notice its negative effects in about a year or 2 with slight, but progressive thinning of the hair.
This video was very helpful to me. I am currently 17 months loc’d and was wondering why I have to keep wrapping hair around my locs when I retwist. Glad to know that this is normal.
Great video. I’m a new subscriber. How many locs do you have? I ask because I have 212. I’m 1 year 9 months loc’d and I interlock but I’m thinking about retwisting to maintain my locs going forward. I also have straighter textured hair around my edges. Wondering if I should just give retwist a try. Thanks for sharing. Your locs are gorgeous.
Hey Betty thank you for supporting my channel :-) I have 152 locs if I remember. I would say do give it a try and see how it works for you - the hair does not stay as need as I imagine interlocking but it is also not as stressed as most interlocking methods might cause it to be :-)
It is a generic brush I think is meant for shining shoes (bought at a shoe shop for its handle) but with softer hairs as I would not recommend the coarser type :-)
Do you just twist the roots? If so, how often do you do this please. I interloc and want to stop doing my roots this way as interlocking makes my locs so tight.
