Your hair is so black and beautiful. I also love your pipe cleaner curls. I am having a warm time with keeping my hair soft and moisturized. Your hair gives me hope.
nice!! I never used the pipe cleaners even though I had bought some when I had first started my locs..I need to learn this method looks really cute n neat!
How did you start your locs? Two-Strand twists, free-forming, comb-twisting etc? I'm playing with the idea of starting my journey and am trying to find different ways to loc. I love the size of your locs as well !
I'm way late on this video but 1. Your locs are gorgeous. 2. Your videos are great quality. 3. You have yourself a new subscriber. 4. Where did you get your bedspread?!? I have the same color walls as you & a very similar headboard. I've been looking for something that matches that well for ages.
Jasmine - You mentioned popped locs, when you mind providing some insight on how to correct those? My locs are really thin at the root and I'm trying to thicken or improve them. Thanks!
You can use a comb to create clear lines or use your fingers to separate the hair. For thin locks twist it with a neighbor at the root or twist two whole locks together. With locks that break or thinning in between you can tie a knot to hold the together.
I first want to thank you for encouraging me to keep my locks. I have been watching your videos for the last 3 weeks and I must say that I have a box of products coming from amazon lol and I have also started a channel. I wash my locs for the very first time a couple of days ago and I twist my hair with only water and no clips. I was shocked that it twist and still is locked. But I will be going to my loctician this Friday, it was just something to hold me until I go get my locs retwist.
I like your video due to your personality and condition of your hair. I semi free form and as I suffer from Lupus I have my hair re twisted once or twice a year. I do love curls and have not used pipe cleaners for a while but now I think I may try them again as yours look amazing up or down. You and Chescalocs are inspirational to this old Brit. Ta.
Hi Jamsine, I first want to say that I love your last name, lol....... now back to the matter at hand.... I am so grateful for your videos.... they are very informative. ... I've gained a wealth of knowledge....... my questions for today..... is lilly of the dessert gel the only product you use for retwisting? Next, will you suggest a good shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer for my locs...... this is my 2nd and last set.......I will never cut this set ....... thank you for sharing
I retwist and interloc every six months however I've decided to stop interlocing and just palm roll for now. I've noticed my LOCS thinned out a bit . Love all your vids
Hi I enjoyed and learned from your vid as I am a newbie. what do you use to wash your hair and where can I purchase pipe cleaners? Thanks so much for your sharing heart.
I also can not wait until my locs are longer! as to the video - two styles in one! Great! And no clips required to retwist - another "great'! I have been experimenting with re-twist products. Will try your gel out too. I have been loc'd for 11mo now and re-twist using a homemade product and clips.
New subbie here. I'll be starting my loc journey soon and i was wondering how do you feel about people starting with loc extensions/faux locs instead of their own hair?
Hi Jasmine, I was looking for the JIY aloe vera gel video but it's not there anymore. This gel looks so effective I have to find out where can I find these ingredients?? I am in Madrid, Spain and I haven't seen the products I am used to but I'm pretty sure I can find Aloe Vera! Please help a girl out because my hair is STRUGGLING !
Hey I am loving the color on ur hair. How do ur locs feel after having it for a couple of weeks almost? And when u retwist do u twist the whole loc? I was just doing the new growth
I do retwist my locs, but I find that my edges don't stay smooth, and they never grow long enough to merge to another loc. Can you suggest a product or technique....Peace and Blessings..
That's pretty much how I retwist as well. Except I only use coconut oil and water. Oh, and I use clips. However I have a metal allergy and I need to stop using them. Do you always set your hair on pipe cleaners when retwisting or was this for later styling purposes?
i use a mix i made of shea butter and mango lime loc butter, ny i am noticing some of my locs are thinning out. so i merge them. but i want them twisted. what are u using to hold after u retwist?
Thank you. I was supposed to be doing a room tour this month but Im afraid its not gonna happen:( . I am not satisfied with how it looks. I seriously hope to give a tour this year though so stay tuned!
I do and have been retwisting!! A Loctician recommended that I try interlocking!! She said it lasts longer and I get it done every six weeks . So I may do that! I retwist about once a month
Umm!! your room is giving me life lol! i love this video! I'll be posting some stuff soon as well. Just wanted to say hey! sending love from another loc star! :-)
Depending on my mood I may go weeks/months without re-twisting and I only use product if I am re-twisting. ow long have you had your locs? This is my third and finally set and it will be 6 years in October
I palm roll my locs. What kind of rods are you using. Is it black. I love that because its hard to see it. What is the brand and where can i get it. my bday is coming up and I need a new style!
Hello Jasmine Rose Please help me out, I am tying to figure out a good and healthy hair option when trying to LIGHTEN My hair, I have a rich coal black right now and i really need a good option.
Is there a reason why you twist your front locs toward your face as opposed to the back of your head? I twist mind back because that's how they were started...I'm just curious! Maybe I could change up! :-)
@Carine C I wanted to try chescaleigh's method but I'm not sure my roots will stay put. I used braids last time to set my retwist and I liked that method.
I'm left handed so i retwist counter clockwise....i try to semi-freeform so that i won't over-twist my hair, i have noticed some thin locs around the edges i thought about combining them but i'm not sure as yet if i want to
hey, I just started my journey with locs about 2days ago. My cousin put my hair in some twist for me to start, so am like a newbee. My fear is, she may have put the twists too big and by the time they start to knot and whats not, my hair may look scanty or spaced out. I counted them, I have 88plaits :( and that seems like a little to me. Do you have any advice or comments. Cause I want my locs to look like yours, in terms of size. I know the length will come after, cause I just started.
