Read DeJoy's 10 year plan to. "Save" the postal service. The last thing they want is to save the USPS. Start screaming at you congressional representative and senators to stop this now. If they don't act, VOTE THEM OUT!
He has messed up the USPS so bad - postage rates have soared and my mail is never on time. He needs to personally check into the problem in STL, MO as far as missing, late and lost packages. Around here in IL we call it the "Bermuda Triangle"! What a sad mess. In this day and age of so much technology, pony express could deliver our mail quicker than it's getting done now!
@momsher1 the usps has agreed to stop the closure of the Champaign and Springfield IL distribution plants until after the first of the year. By the way all the mail from those two plants after closure will be sent to St Louis, MO. Think things are bad now? Just wait. Employees call the St Louis MO plant the "black hole". Mail goes in and never leaves nor is found again. The Illinois representatives and senators have people thinking they save their distribution plants. Nope, they put a band aid on the problem until after the election. I hope the people in those areas reread the wording and realize they have been bamboozled so the politicians get re-elected. Central to Southern Illinois need to show them they won't be fooled and vote out all incumbents.

Well one could only hope but I'm just finding this 2 months later and I have 5 packages in la la land STL Missouri! Been sitting there for 12 days now. What a mess. Can't even shop online or sell online because of the cluster fuck in STL MO post office sort facility!
Yup was at the post office 30mins before they closed. It was me and another girl and shorty dead turned the lights off while we was standing in line and said come back tomorrow smh
DeJoy was not elected. TRUMP put him there for political reasons. DeJoy trying to break it apart, get rid of the union and dismantle it for all his little buddies to own pieces of the company. The only person that can get him out is a president
@MrNinout deJoy was selected by the postal board not elected by a six panel board 2 Republicans, 3 democrats. Now the board is 5 democrats and 1 republican. They had three years to get rid of him. The democrats support of deJoy has grown in the past three years. They have threatened to privatize USPS for decades. Now they have the guy who will destroy it so they have no choice but to privatize. It's going to only get a lot worse before then.
my post office closed at 12 noon one day last week. Was told the worker was not allowed to work over time and had to leave and lock up. She was filling in for a regular worker and she had exceeded her max working hours and left.
Well under DeJoy's leadership - our little town's post office hours were cut to 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. What a joke. Glad I'm retired now so if I do ever have a package to pickup I can get there during those hours.
Bad upper management (above reginal managers) pension pushing shiny shoed college grads that have never worked longer than a few days carrying mail. It is the equivalent of a high school diploma blue collar laborer suddenly being appointed CEO or CFO of Berkshire Hathaway.

Gratitude for the integrity of this person to speak up & speak out. This has been a concern in my West End neighborhood for years. When i brought it to the local branch the mail carrier retaliated. Paying for a post office box isn't an option for many. could it be this erosion of resources & acceptance of incompetence was precipitated from the top down by Post Master General DeJoy 🧐 this vital resource has been integral to what works in US & requires more attention than those most impacted can address on their own. People, this has wide implications & We shouldn't sleep on it ✍🏾🤔🇺🇸
Oh we know! The local post offices in STL SUCK!!! Thanks for publicizing this along with this employee. This is the normal... and it shouldnt be. Messed up hours, late mail, never getting mail, EXTREMELY RUDE customer service....
It's not even just USPS. It's also FedEx, Amazon, DHL, and UPS. They all overwork and under pay their drivers/workers. There really needs to be an investigation done on these logistics companies for work place hazards and other problems.

Important mail items that were photographed as received, and "In my mailbox" according to USPS Informed Delivery, failed to reach my mailbox. After reporting, I received a generic email, stating the case had been resolved & closed! Nothing was ever investigated or explained, much less resolved. In desperation, I visited my local PO in Foristell, MO, and stressed I was not blaming them, just hoping to figure-out what was happening to our mail. I asked if the Postmaster could help educate me where our mail travels, after reaching the StL Distribution Center. We should both want to solve the problem as to where & when the mail might be mishandled, lost, stolen, or delivered to the wrong address. She was extremely rude and defensive, saying there's nothing they can do, and they aren't liable for lost mail, even if it's insured. If the stamp-dated mail image appears in my Informed Delivery as "Arriving Today," then the Postmaster should know the basics of her covered zip-code territory, and be able to locate where and who delivers mail pieces in the subdivisions along that particular route. Apparently she is paid a 6-figure salary to shrug her shoulders and roll her eyes at concerned customers not receiving their mail! No excuse.
USPS San Antonio TX receives my packages which is where they belong, but then San Antonio USPS sends them to Kerrville TX just for Kerrville to send them back to San Antonio to then be delivered causing a 2-3 day delay in delivery. What the hell is wrong with the San Antonio Post office?
Mail for San Antonio doesn't DELIBERATELY get sent to Kerrville (or other outlying towns, for that matter). Sometimes packages fall into the wrong city-bin from the conveyer belt/sorter (if they are too large or irregular in shape)...they bump into other packages or the vertical dividers on the belt and spin off into the wrong container. The larger packages are supposed to be separated, then hand-sorted to keep this from happening, but it's a judgement call on the part of the operator/employee. Also, if a person purchases a postage label with a barcode for, say, Kerrville, but then uses it, instead, for San Antonio, the package will get sent to Kerrville because of the barcode, not what's written on the label. The 'send to' address (city) is coded into that barcode. Unless you cross out the barcode, the package gets scanned (read by the sorting machine) and sent to whatever the barcode 'reads'. I mistakenly used a Priority label that I had purchased for Austin, to send something to a family member in McAllen...it took an extra week for it to arrive in McAllen as the barcode routed it to Austin. It, probably went to Austin a couple times, someone recognized it, and realized the barcode was routing it there. Crossing it out, the package then got routed via its' zip code manually. I worked in the package processing department at the time, and never knew (until that incident) that the barcode determines the city. (We used to type in the zipcode when processing...that changed to a barcode-reader. I figured I had a Priority label that had been paid for, so might as well use it for a different address...it was blank, and I wrote in a different address than the one originally intended. I learned from my own mistake. It's not always the Postal Services fault...we, as customers, have to pay attention to what we're doing, as well. Leaving your return address off of something, then short-changing the postage is a sure-fire way of your package getting sent to the Dead Letter Facility in Atlanta (if the person at the receiving end doesn't want to pay the postage-due). I've put plenty of 1¢ and 2¢ stamps on customers' letters (tax returns) to the IRS, just to keep those letters from getting sent to Atlanta, and the customer from missing the IRS deadline. Human-error is in play IN and OUT of the postal service, as it is everywhere. It isn't perfect, but for the tens of thousands of parcels and letters processed daily, the USPS does a pretty damned good job. One last thing, for those of you bitching about the price of a first-class stamp...how much gas would it take to get that letter where it's going...whether across town, or across the country??!? It's still less expensive than in Europe folks. Get over it!
It's not so much that the prices of stamps is going up. It's that price of stamps is going up but (in general) the quality of service is going down with the increasing prices. I think most postal workers are doing the very best they can with what they've got to work with but there are many USPS locations that are having major issues. @@judithfabian2473
I’m a former mail carrier in Minnesota, he’s right about upper management. They don’t care about their workers. It starts from the top down. Every office is short staffed regardless of what state you live in. Postmaster General Dejoy needs to leave and be replaced by someone that is 💯 pro union. Dejoy has been slowly eating away at the inside of the organization. I have been repeatedly sexually assaulted, harassed, and accosted and I have contacted management, Human Resources and The Union. Not a damn thing from nobody. They just ignored it. So I quit. And when I reached out to attorneys, they won’t take the case because it’s USPS.
They wouldn't be short staffed if they responded to the thousands of job applicants they have at their disposal. USPS has made no effort to hire more workers.
90% of the job openings are for Rural or City letter carriers. It's a lot harder to get hired. If you have car accidents, DWI, moving violations your out. Drug tests kill applicants too no Marijuana. It's legal only at the state level. Federal job, federal laws apply. So drug tests take applicants out too. Then their is finger printing and FBI check. Lord know what they might use to not hire you. If you are hired its a 90 day probation. If your not improving, call in late or sick you done. Then your hours will be part time at many office for 3-6 months. Sundays and holidays are a must work. That's where they lose many who did get hired. For as hard as you think the job will be, you will wish it was as hard as you believed it would be to do. It's not a job for the weak in body or mind. As the last three years have passed it's only getting harder. My husband is getting too much overtime while the newbies get sent home early.
@GamersBay it's hard. No DWI's ever, no moving violations, accidents. FBI background check, fingerprints, drug tests. And if they get that far, they over or under work them into quitting. It's a revolving door.
That's not our issue if the carrier ain't in they calling someone here. And we be out til 7-9 some times and we hella smaller than anything in STL. We are hella overworked and underpaid. 6+ days a week 10-12hrs a day.
Our mail carrier refuses to pick up our mail from our mailbox, no dog, flag up & for the 3 years we've lived here, no mail has ever been picked up. We live on a very nice HOA neighborhood.
I'm a Current Letter Carrier (NYC); I agree with an anonymous former carrier. The problem is that the General Postmaster and the management are trying to cut off and kill the delivery route to save money, causing massive delays and customer service. But Some cutoff routes give and spread other carriers to take extra work on their current route. "SOME" friendly managers & supervisors tried to balance the workflow due to a lack of shortage carriers, CCA, and bad upper management.
Local Post Master told me they can’t get anyone to work. They constantly call off or no-call-no-show. And he said if they do show up, they are hung-over or high.
Yea the USPS is a disaster of an organization! Since September 2023 I have had nearly 5 packages severely damaged resulting in them having to be exchanged with the merchant costing me thousands of $$$! As of today the USPS has yet to respond with adequate sufficiency with regard to the whereabouts of another package of mine that they lost enroute to the merchant I was sending it too after horrific damage upon USPS delivery to me. I've submitted service request, MRC requests, & my package was insured; yet still to this very day 04/25/2024 they have no answer about the whereabouts of my package!
Why is it I can shop online and have packages from all around the country shipped out on time and move smoothly through the USPS system but the minute my packages reach STL or Hazelwood MO they sit for days or weeks or disappear altogether?? I have five packages right now from different places that have been sitting in STL facility for 12 days now. That is ridiculous! Another was missent last Tuesday, sent back to STL, missent the next day, sent back, then missent again! Why aren't the higher ups doing anything to fix this problem? This has been going on for years. I had to stop selling on ebay because when I mail my packages they have to go through STL and they are not dependable! This is more than wrong! When I have a vendor ship to me using UPS or FedEX, I don't have this problem!
The postal service also kills baby chicks by not delivering them on tie or throwing the boxes around. Last week I asked to overnight some papers to another State. It took 3 days to get there, thereby missing a deadline.
Baby chicks die because people order them, instead of buying them locally. They are packing in these small boxes full of chicks, and the seller expect some to die, and probably those that order expect it too. These boxes are not thrown around.
That is a very original and valid point I haven't heard before. You'll notice your Amazon packages nearly never arrive late. This should really be looked into.

Its not complicated. Usps is severely understaffed. The mail doesnt deliver itself, and there arent nearly enough employees to cover route vacancies, so the mail sits in the post office/facilities undelivered
As with any business, there will be dishonest employees looking for an opportunity to steal. The few who have stolen and have gotten caught will look forward to 5 years for every piece of mail stolen, in a Federal Penitentiary. It's few and far between, and, unfortunately, the USPS gets a bad rap where other businesses don't.
Everyone on here that's complaining about the Post Office needs to complain to Congress. Complain to President Biden who can remove DeJoy (Trump's Buddy) Postal Workers are customers too
I got a note this week from my mail carrier, it said that I needed to move my mail box so they can deliver my mail without getting hurt. My mail carrier walks through my flower beds instead of walking up 3 steps to my mail box. They have killed 2 of my plants and telling me to destroy my flower beds or move my mail box. Lazy over paid government workers.
How dam do you know we are overpaid? Wearing our shoes, our uniform, our satchel then you will learn! So many mail carrier getting bad knees after years of service.
The guy has to walk twelve miles a day carrying like 30-40 pounds all day long. Get chased by dogs. Yelled at by customers. Stung by bees. Yelled at by management for being micro managed into the dirt. Deal with extreme heat and extreme cold. Rain. And he's the lazy one? Look out for your damn mail carrier and make their life easier you entitled toxic Karen.
Mailman are the worst.......they think they know the News of the town. And if the mailman its single......U notice. My opinion.....I fired most of 'em. Such a nice job......but they show they care less. Magmnt in the Post office must be the Lowest
