He's not wrong about how dangerous Houston is, I don't care if we are the most or not, the fact is the crime here has gotten more violent, Houstonians are dying for simply pumping gas, driving, using the atm, and even going to McDonald's can get you killed, robbed, or beat up just for getting an order wrong, Houston is a hot mess, we used to be so proud to call Houston home ...not anymore that being said, he is not a saint himself just because he's not putting a gun in your face doesn't mean he ain't robbing you too. He is after something.
@@mansagarus9226 that’s your opinion he also has given millions in donation and given a community hope thru dark times . I’m catholic and I still respect his work
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 ESV Kind of hard to have abundant life when crime is rampant and government officials do nothing to stop it. Preach it, Pastor Ed!!
I agree and mayor turner and his cronies still dont get the message just another democrate run city saying houston is a safe city safe for the criminals
All cities are more dangerous now than 5 or 10 years ago. Ed just needs to visit Philly or Baltimore to re-learn to appreciate the city that made him rich.
So what is the plan to address it. It is easy to point out problems, what are you going to do to help. Its kind of like the red party saying gas prices are high. Then when the gas price gouging bill comes out none of them sign it
Here they go, trying to use the church in a negative way. He dont represent what Jesus died for. We aren't called to point fingers at whose Holier than thou.
Ain’t nothin negative about the TRUTH. HTOWN Sux nowadays and it IS The Democrats who are in charge!!! Not all Democrats Are Criminals but Most Criminals ARE Democrats!!! The Mayor, the Judges and the District Attorney are ALL to Blame for this 💩!!!
Sorry but that is what churches do The real benefit of being part of organized religion is being holier than thou and believing that everybody other than you is evil and destined for an eternity of suffering
You don't represent what Jesus represents because Jesus spoke the truth without sugar coating it. Saying this proves your not from here. People that have lived here all their life can see and feel a difference. Keep lying to yourself.
@@jd4908 I'm sure your right about that but the state has had nothing but negative publicity all year from Uvalde to Galveston to Houston and other areas as well.
Houston has some higher crime now than it ever did before I’m a local Houstonian born and raised here for more than three generations I have never seen crime is high as it is now it affects everyone either you or someone you know has been a victim of a crime
I see 2 replies yet when I try to read them they are not available. RU-vid has mini communists 😂 they get a little power to do something lk block someone's speech and they think they are someone important. Looks like I'll have to delete this app too 👋
@@god563616 Second Baptist Church is where I was baptized as a kid. We were members there for years, this was when they just had the Woodway campus in the 80s and 90s, before all the needless auxiliary locations. We even had memberships at the fitness center on the 2nd floor, next to one of the restaurants they had there. Hell, I remember when they had a bowling alley, it was on the 4th floor if I remember correctly (before it was converted into a wrestling gym; and who knows what it is nowadays). My mom used to help with the Sunday school classes they held for people with Downs Syndrome 30 years ago, which were held in a room near the older Sanctuary they used for the main sermons before they built the new Woship Center. I always loved that huge worship center. I never got used to how majestic their organ pipes were, and the humongous stained glass windows to the left and right (one of which is fake-lit from the backside). And they always had the best tech. Back then they had gigantic television cameras, and even though they had an amazing speaker set that hung down from the center of the roof, I remember when they installed the Bose speakers for the pews in the back and in the double set of balconies and how great that sounded. I loved how you could walk out in the middle of the sermon and never miss a word of it because there were live TVs lined along the hallway walls and speakers in the restrooms. I could go on and on and on. You're talking to a native born and raised Houstonian, and as it just so happens, and former member of Dr. Ed Young's church. (And yes, I was a huge fan of his son Cliff's band, Caedmon's Call. And no, I didn't care for his other son's sermons when he first took a stab at preaching.) So, if you're triggered by my original comment, I'm sorry to offend your delicate sensitivities. Just take a moment next time to breathe and put yourself together a little before slinging petty, baseless accusations at me.
The Holy Bible tell us that in the last day men heart will get desperately wicked. Men will become lovers of themselves more than lover of the Heavenly Father. The duty of the Pastor is to teach the word. Equip the believers. And to pray for the Salvation of the world. Pray for a change in the hearts of these individuals that are committed the crime. Pray for our communities. Teach believers to love one another and to help one another. Live an exemplary life so others can see, and come to repentance, and Glorify the Father. Stop playing politics in the churches. Teach the words. Live the word, do the Masters will. He did come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Pray without ceasing. The will of the Heavenly Father is that all should come to repentance. Yahshua said go and make disciples of me.. How many have you witness to outside the church building this week.
