How is the image at 58 seconds a T1 weighted image? Im getting really confused as I thought MRI cortical bone is dark, but in the above image cortical bone is white? Please help!

That is a T1WI. You judge by seeing that the grey matter is darker than the white matter. Meanwhile, the bones are black. The white thing you saw is probably the connective tissues outside of the cranium, namely epicranium.
