Whisky.com reviews the Loch Lomond 14 years. This 14 year old Loch Lomond is made from non-smoking raw spirit from the unique Loch Lomond straight neck pot stills. After maturing in Bourbon casks, the Malt is stored in French Limousin oak for up to twelve months.

Was recently at Loch Lomond before the lockdown, the locals are so proud of their local spirit!

Loch Lomond not only my favorite Loch but good whiskies, affordable core ranges and varied in ages. Interesting that distillation "rises" above maturation in their whisky architecture... did you see the pun?

Not a fan of the label. Having “fruit and cinnamon” that bold makes people think it’s something like those new favored bourbons that are literally flavored with cinnamon and fruit. Why would a scotch EVER want to be associated with cheap flavored whiskies? Shameful. What was their marketing department thinking?!

I think people have caught onto the idea of tasting notes, and the description will help you choose a bottle. I might've given this a go given that Loch Lomond is quite cheap around here, and taken their description as indication that This Loch Lomond won't be bitter like the rest. And at least they're not joke notes like you see out of North Star, etc. Hints of Disco and Funk? damn additives.

For the record I like their whisky, I’ve bought a couple bottles over the years. But I think they’re going in the wrong direction by catering to the lowest common denominator with putting flavors on the front of the label. If you’re in the market for fireball do you really think you’re going to buy a nice scotch?

@@martinbeen yeah they’re dependable stuff at a very fair price. I usually reach for the 12, as it’s the same price as a blend but much much much better. I’ve also had an older one, I think it might have been 16 years old and that was really good stuff but nowhere as cheap as the 12.
