A little munro bagging trip up to Lochnagar in the Cairngorms. After work on a Friday, i started the long drive up to Ballater and stayed the night for an early start the next morning.
After a short drive down to Glen Muick during the blue hour, i started the walk just as the sun rose from behind the mountains. Nearing the top of the mountain, i was surprised when i encountered some fresh, deep snow on the area known as the ladder.
After wading up through the snow, i eventually reached the summit. Any plans of further hills were quickly scrapped due to the extra effort the snow was demanding to walk across. I headed back down to Loch Muick by following the Glas Allt river and came across a spectacular waterfall before making it down to the flatter ground along the banks of the loch.

Another great video Kris, loved the intro and the chase scene, slick and funny. 😆 I think Muick may be pronounced like Mick, but I'm not totally sure. Lol. Cheers Robin

Cheers Robin. Yeah, i wasn't really sure about it, It's one of those weird ones lol. I heard the recording of it sounding like "mick" but i can't find any info on why it sounds like that. It's not Gaelic because there's no letter K in the Gaelic alphabet, so i just went with English. Think the Gaelic name has something to do with pigs which sounds like "Mooy-chke" so who knows. This one's almost as messed up as Ben Chonzie 😂

@@ScottishMountainGoat that's an easy one to pronounce at least. Possibly Jura. Just playing it by ear though.

Nice one Kris, Loved the funny opening :) I know of some people who have bumped into Prince Charles while walking in that neck of the woods, By all accounts he is very down to earth so i wouldnt worry about being chased with guns an dogs LOL! All the best mate, peter. PS Loch Mick it is, Is bloody hard at times though!!!

Haha cheers Peter. Glad I didnt bump into him when I was running around like an eejit. Haha hard it is!! Its gonna drive me daft till I can find out why it's pronounced like that! This stuffs hard to find online though 😪

Think the way it's pronounced is to do with the Doric dialect they speak up I the north east. So it's not just Gaelic and English we need to worry about lol. Thanks to you and Robin for pointing it out. Every day is a school day! 😀

@@ScottishMountainGoat True, To be honest it is near impossible to nail it completely. I heard that some Gaelic language would be different by where you lived. Could be just a small distance of 10-20 miles or a neighbouring glen for example. So what chance have we daft Lowlanders got LOL! But it is very interesting all the same, Adds to the enjoyment of it all!

Not quite Prince Charles but we bumped into Camilla when we were up there in September. Lovely lady very chatty and happy to share her stories of her love of the area.
