➤ In today's video I will be doing a very popular Munro circuit, Lochnagar and the White Mounth Circuit. This high level walk takes in 5 Munros, including the beautiful cliffs of Lochnagar.
I also discover some of the wildlife in the area, and also come across some of the Plane Wreckage on Càrn an t-Sagairt Mòr - RAF Canberra which was downed in 1956.
The walk begins from The Spittal of Glen Muick Car Park (£5 Charge)
This route is around 19 Miles long and will take around 9-11 Hours.
(This is a long day and not to be underestimated)

Also my difficulty rating/overall ratings are the difficulty of the walk, discounting weather conditions! The hills can be dangerous so always be prepared!

Wonderful stuff. Very lucky to capture those white-tailed eagles. They were extinct until 1980 before being reintroduced. Great footage, well done!

@@ScottishMunroJourney Lol, yeah. It really is amazing. I spent a night up there in the summer and I loved it. Incredible views and only a few midges in the morning. Highly recommend doing it overnight. Hell, I even filmed it.

I've only ever been onto Lochnagar in the winter via climbs on the crags, but love the idea of longer winter treks around there like this one. Classic claggy views on the first summit there!

I have done this round 5 times but from Glen Doll as its easier for me to drive to from Brechin, been blown over trying to get to the top of Lochnagar, stood on the Loch in a Jan winter , also you should look up the story about the aeroplane that was found in the water after a Spring thaw, heading up to Doll tomorrow for a stretch of the legs, cheers and keep up the good content👍

Great video, enjoyed that! Nice to see what the Munros actually look like 🙃 Did these in blizzard conditions after spending a night in the “royal” bothy 👑 The whole day was a white out and 50mph winds 😆 We certainly enjoyed our dinner and beer in Braemar that night.

Great to see those hills again mate! And I know lochnagar like I know my own back garden😂! You’ll have to go back and do lochnagar again but up through the black spout and come back down past the waterfall as that’s worth a look👍🏻

What a pity the view was restricted for you on Lochnagar. My brother who worked for the Ordnance Survey once saw Morvan in Caithness 90 miles distant and Hedgehope and Cheviot in Northumberland 112 and 111 miles distant from the summit. Next time? Thanks again for a great tour.

Based on that, I would be very tempted to do them anti-clockwise, doing the slog first and ending with Lochnagar as a special treat for doing the rest of them!

Well done again mate. Really enjoyed this video. Thank you again for sharing. One question, I noticed quite a lot of trees when you started, but at the top of the munros, none to speak of. Where do the trees stop? At a certain elevation?
@ScottishMunroJourney
@ScottishMunroJourney 2 года назад
Thanks mate 😁 not sure on that one, think it may be due to lack of water and higher winds after a certain height! Your right though, never see trees after around 500m 😂 Atb, James

How long did it take you to do the 5 and get back to the car James - Very keen to make Lochnagar one of my next munros but debating on whether or not to just do the other 4 too. It looked like fairly easy going between them, is it just the distance that is the only downside??
