It’s been 5 weeks of lockdown here in South Africa. That means 5 weeks of no surfing. Its time to
start prepping for when we are allowed back in the water. This 25 minute session is the perfect full body workout with a combination of pool paddling and surf specific land based exercises that will reignite all those muscles you are used to using in a surf session.
The paddling will help rebuild some endurance, and condition muscles and abdominals that haven’t been used like they are when we surf. Enjoy Feeling some tender ribs from lying and paddling on your board again. Try make all 5 rounds, but if you feel like you cant cope then start with just 3. Each round consists of a 1 minute pool paddle followed by four 30 second exercises.
The land exercises are; dips, an overhead squat hold, push up rotations and a lunge press. I have incorporated your surf board as much as possible so that you get the feel of your rails in your hands again. The land exercises will help condition all the muscles we use while surfing.
