The short version of the walkaround which includes the details of the cockpit only. Piercarlo Ciacchi shows the new cockpit with electric power on so we see all the instruments plus the original and new avionics of the aircraft.
What happened lately, no more videos, no more updates ? Remember you have a lot of guys out here that love ❤️ to see what you do and love the F-104 for life . Thanks 🙏
Never boring, Piercarlo, thank you! Most of the time, when I look at photos of the cockpit layouts on Century Series fighters, I see a confusing mess. This cockpit has a MUCH better layout, and with the 2 G5s, it looks just like my 182. This is THE ultimate bad-ass airplane. I wish they had a faithful simulator. I would love to see if I could hack landing one. Please do show us some more flight videos. Starfighters is a fascinating operation!
Here it is and the cockpit's pretty sweet for a mod : filehorst.de/folder.php?key=eYfkKFik RU-vid review : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dCY6-KkmTyk.html
Complimenti, lo ricordavo diverso, avete alleggerito parzialmente il cockpit e inserito strumenti molto più utili alla navigazione.... Complimenti Pier Carlo... Sei sempre il migliore.
In 1972, when I was a Flight Surgeons Office Medic, at Edwards Air Force Base, I was honored to catch a ride in a T-104 from the Air Force Test Pilots School. To say the least it was a thrill and a highlight of my four-year time in the air Force. We did fantastic maneuvers and flew at Mach two. The cockpits sure have changed from the 1972 relics.
7:36 The Yellow item on the left side of the canopy sill is a Knife designed to break the Canopy if it fails to open. It's a solid steel tubular piece of metal, knurled grip and a short 2-3 inch thick blade. I bought one at a flea market years ago, could not figure out why it was so heavy or what it was used for. Sold it on ebay for $250.
Unbelievable !!! Sir you are fantastic, I had given up the hope that during my life I would see something like the F - 104 flying but like with the Mig - 23 I was shortsighted....in my mind I could imagine a scenario where those kind of airplanes could fly in exercises with the US AIR FORCE or NAVY / MARINES to give them an idea about real airplanes . The F -104 or the MIG - 23 if upgraded with modern engines and avionics designed of course to their original envisioned specifications could teach a lesson anytime to those flying computers used today... Thank you Sir for uploading this videos about the F - 104 STARFIGHTER and keep ' em flying as long as you can...
The last years the danish had a double seater F-104 that flew on airshows. But I don't know the actual current status. Yeah, in my youth we had a lot F-104 flying around my home town. I lived near the western german border to the GDR and we had almost every day F-104 from the german airforce, the canadian air forcce, rare from the dutch air force or the danish air force. And very, very rare from Italy, from Turkey or from Greece. I miss this times. In former days we saw maybe ten to 20 jets some days at low level (150m gnd), a lot of them Starfighters. Nowadays I'm lucky if I see two or three military jets per year! 2021 I've seen not a single one. For an (military) aviation enthusiast there are realy bad days now in Germany... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wdUKeDyNT28.html
@@MisterIvyMike The same thing here . I my youth I lived in communist Romania and near my hometown where located some big military establishments . Regularly there were exercises between the Army and the Air force . It was like Christmas for me. Seeing those fast noisy jets over your head at max 500 m altitude and with 700 - 1000 km/ h....Of course those days you couldn't tell what type they were( there where no information available like today ) ...or hang around with a photographic equipment or God help video equipment...but people where pointing at them and saying - Those are MIG s !!! I remember that they started around 9 am and finished around 4 pm and I was glued to the school's gym rooftop or our house rooftop ... Anyhow after the " liberation " and the dawning of the new times the visit 's became more rare and much shorter. With the availability of information sources now I could identify MIG - 21 / 23 / 29 ... L 39 ...IAR 93 / 99 and when I bought my life first walkman ( those with 8 mm casets ) by pure coincidence I discovered that if you are at least 2 km from the city airport TWR you actually could listen in and hear the radio conversation ( God bless those Russian radio transmitter s !!! ) Those were my most remembered memory s from that time period. ...Of course this days forget it ...all those magnificent bird's were butchered by the scrapman and watching on RU-vid the videos about Harrier/ F-104 /F- 86/ L - 29/ 39 / MIG 15/17/21/23/29 flying around in private hands is so heartwarming....Just hoping that owners would not give them away and will keep them flying for a long time to come ...
Ciao, noto molti cambiamenti della varia strumentazione originale, anche il pannello external stores modificato. Mi pare che il seggiolino sia il Martin Baker IQ-7A se non vado errato. Complimenti per la descrizione.
Like the digital instrumentation upgrades...Yeager probably would have liked them also .The F.104 was what he said was a widowmake if flown by an inexperienced pilot
I fly a cessna 150 in florida. I wonder ? If the rudder and elevater are conected to stick with cables and pullets, or fly by wire ? Rudder and elevater look very thin . 🇺🇸
Ok, to make the aircraft warning horns work through the headset, did u have to add a piece of avionics equipment? We had to with the garmin package in the S-211s.
I designed a box (and manufactured in house) that basically makes the civilian radio look like a military one from the aircraft perspective. So in other words, there was no modifications to the original 104 system....like if we had 2 UHF (military impedance) radios.
....needles are easier to read and take less time...just a glance. Digital numbers need the time to be read each time and trends are difficult to catch.
