Lockwood Twin (picked and gutted)

Just messing with a Lockwood Twin in 570 oval format. A good and decent lock that is quite a fun challenge to pick. Not as savage as the ASSA Twin but still a solid lock. Oh, and just to be clear, this is not my first time picking a Twin.

Cheers. A decent and fun lock. Not so elusive. $200AUD and anybody can have one. ;) Made to order though, so having to wait a few weeks until you get it sucks a little. :/

A great lock and you did a great job, you haven't lost your touch. I had one but gifted it to PickME. Nicely gutted too.... except that demonic music. Lol. Nice to see you back my friend. 🍺✌😎

Although not always seen, there are always a few irons in the fire. :) A generous and expensive gift for PickME. He should frame the bloody thing. ;) Demonic? No. Good bunch of lads, really. A little noisy, but good. As for me, I never really went anywhere. ;P Not much time to spend idly though.

Great to see another version of the ASSA sidebar design by Bo Widen. ASSA also make locks with only 2 of the sidebar pins active for lower security levels. The original Twin6000 use sidebar pins with open gates like this, but the Combi design change the spacing between the cuts in the keys, so you also need to turn the pins as well as lifting them, to allign the cut outs with the sidebar

The fountain of knowledge, also known as Rune International. :) Great locks, yes. A few Twins lurk around here. Recently picked up a Ruko2 padlock with an ASSA Twin Combi core. Somewhere around here there is even a cutawsay of the ASSA Twin 6000. I've become quite a fan of them, which is not hard to do at all. :)

Great pick and great video, shut up about your skills by the way you are an incredible picker!!! I have a twin 6000 with gin bottle spools and it is a beast, I have not gotten it open yet. I would like to try to get one of those Lockwood twins and a couple of the other twins to kinda act as a primer I just don't seem to come across them. Living in the US kinda sucks for cool locks lol

Hehe, cheers. Zen and the art of drunken lock picking. ;) Being a little loose and free of tension can be helpful. So long as you are not seeing two or more of the lock, all should be well. :)

Awesome picking mate, great job on a great lock. I wasn't fortunate enough to get mine with a key but I was fortunate to get a Twin at all. Have been eyeing off some on eBay but they're so bloody expensive. Comparing the Ruko 2 padlock with a Twin Combi (5800) I bought from a UK seller on eBay with the Lockwood Twin, the shared origin is obvious but the need to rotate the fingerpins as well as the increase to 5 fingerpins is a massive jump in picking difficulty. Especially when you add the space restriction and the fact that the Lockwood Twin seems to have a single sidebar bitting across Australia as opposed to the Twin Combi actually having differs. Again, awesome picking and have yourself a happy new year mate. :) Mr L

Thanks. The crazy price? Tell me about it. I payed that stupid bloody price for the Lockwood Twin. On the bright side, it came with two keys. Perhaps one would be useful to you? Ahh, yes, the Ruko 2 with the Twin Combi was hard to resist wasn't it? ;) I had to bite as well. Too good an opportunity to let slide. As you say, the two beasts do not really compare in terms of security. Still, the Lockwood Twin is very cool to mess with. :) Hmm, clock on the wall tells me to say Happy New Year! Beautiful job on picking into the assa twin there my friend. Cant say ive ever held one to try but they do seem like a tricky lock to mess with. I thought it sounded like Yukka from the dudesons in the background lol All the best for 2019 mate 👍
