An excellant and very imformative video Paul as always. You have the nack of keeping it interesting from beginnig to the end.and should be very proud of your presentational skills. Merry Christmas to all at the FR and WHR.
Absolutely superb update Paul, compliments the magazine updates nicely. As an Alco ( Mountaineer ) fan, I remember seeing the loco in steam in it's original form soon after being acquired, could I please request than an update on the restore process be included in your future videos?
Marvellous video. I would like to wish everybody connected with the F & WHR a very merry christmas hope you have prosperous and fault free season next year.
Evening Paul. Fantastic story about how the railway is fairing up for the end of 2022 and making if fit for the 2023 season. It’s on my day our list for my wife and I for next year. We’ll do too you all 👍🏻 Happy Christmas and all the very best for 2023 cheers Stevie 😀
Another excellent video. These videos together with the excellent Society Magazine edited by John Dobson provide a wealth of information. Intriguing reference at 0.30 to electric traction. Does this mean that the PW trolley conversion and Carlisle and Newcastle on the South Tyndale Railway are regarded as successful?
I really like your style. "Not comfortable here. Knowledgeable, but not my favorite aspect of my job" Got any out-takes? You'll run me close for money on swearing I bet.
I was interested to note how much swapping components between locomotives of the same type is done, a clear advantage of having fleets of almost identical locomotives.
Many thanks for a most interesting and informative video. One question, if I may. Why has the railway adopted right hand running on double track sections? Usually in the UK (and in many other countries) left hand running is the rule.
I hope that the person making the Trainz replicas of these machines makes one for Mountaineer III and James Spooner when they enter service. And one question. Why would you make lyd for yourself instead of another fairily or something from pre-preservation The L&B never really had much relations to the FR as far as I know
Princess is the last remaining England in ‘original’ condition and so will remain in museum condition. EoM is in storage and will hopefully be restored to sort of museum condition at some point and Mountaineer is now the subject of a restoration as has been shown in Moving Pictures this years. Watch this space.
One notable omission.... what's happened to Mountaineer? For a loco that at one point was as instantly identifiable and distinctly Ffestiniog as the Fairlies or Englands are now, she seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet. Any hope she'll return?
Have a watch of our Moving Pictures episode 71 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Da89NBVgUGs.html You will see the latest progress with Mountaineer.
