It's a real hard job and also a responsible job. It involves skill and dedication as it involves the safety of all the passengers. My salute to the lady. She should be given the proper hand gloves by the railways for the ladies safety. I wish the lady good Luck for her future.

Qmsarge was probably lead by the fact that it is a Locomotive from the Ernakulam Diesel Shed. Trains on konkan are regularly hauled by Ernakulam locos so they are regularly seen upto Panvel
@ bigblockz8, why shouldn't be safe? In the Netherlands they use almost the same system, never problems had with... Even our High Speed train use this connect between the locs and passenger carriage.... Only on the front of the train we use an other system that is quicker (no loose hoses etc: electrical, pneumatic and the transmission is done by one coupling).

Excellent courage for the women to be doing this job, empowerment at its best.... And shame on the men(bosses) who haven't even given her safety equipments (gloves and proper safety jackets)...
There are women drivers too in Indian Railways but very few. I saw a lady driver in WAP4 heading Tamil Nadu exp in Vijayawada but i guess it was around 7 yrs back.
She is just an employee of railway, where male & female are equal at work place , then i dont understand why people are saluting her? she is just doing her duty, i have seen very senior old persons are coupling at railway , we never salute them, as she is lady, so we are madly saluting her.
