Based on a WOK (iron casted), a pottery wheel and a round aluminium plate (450mm) I build a fire resistant Turntable 180 degrees for my live steam coal fired locomotive (Walter Kolb DR 99 7240-7) ... expenses 200.-CHF
small track was deceiving, what a big loco, the heavy wok for stability seems fine, it catching water might be a problem, does it go in a train shed ? no automation like hitting the bumper makes it start turning ? but getting it to stop aligned might be a small problem.
thank you for your comment. I drilled a hole in the bottom (not shown in this video ;-) ) to allow the draining of water out of the wok... the wok/turntable will be placed in a bed of stones levelled to the main track outdoor not in a shed...
