LOE Foundations D Walkthrough Revised  

Wonderful to hear this was a training in Rochester MN. I worked there 28 years ago and there were heated discussions in the break room about Whole Language and phonics instruction. The district embraced Whole Language. Some teachers used only Whole Language approaches even when they knew it was wrong because they wanted the data to accurately show Whole Language fails to teach reading. Other teachers added phonemic awareness and phonics because they refused to only use the poor instruction of Whole Language and subsequently fail to teach student to read. Fascinating discussions and I could understand both side of the issue. All were wonderful teachers.
