Hi I already subscribed to your channel tks. It was good to see Bobby on there I use to log myself many years ago retired now can't wait to see more of your channel good luck
Hey justin I remember two months in logging a bow saw got me one day well 3and a half hrs in surgery and two weeks later I was back at it again my father took a chainsaw in the leg one time put him down for a little but he got right back at it to we were logers in southeastern Ohio
@@x...CrankyOldMan...x yea nobody wants to work anymore I work in asphalt n I’m sure u bust your butt every day to just to pay people on welfare they r counting on us lol
That man is a terminal driver. He can only pull loads to a large parking lot and unhook. I guarantee he can never be taught. Some things can never be trained on a driver if they can’t figure it out on their own. He is a steering wheel holder nothing else.
@@jay2tymes258 no sir, I’ve been around truck drivers for over 20 years and you can tell very quickly if a driver will ever be a really good driver or just a steering wheel holder.
Good to see a younger generation willing to work and have someone to pass knowledge down to, very rare these days, you'll do fine, just go slow and steady, it's always better than tearing up your equipment trying to go hard and fast to make a few extra dollars.
You have a good thing going here Lad wishing you tons of luck. When it comes to logging Bobby Godson is the real deal hands down. To have his brain to pick is a sure fire win for you.
Great to see this video. Wish my father was alive to see this as he would have loved it. He was an owner/operator in the late 70's then worked for Great Northern Paper in their woodlands division as an equipment operator. He finished his career teaching high schoolers how to drive class A vehicles. Like most, owner/operators he had those days. Everyone does. Wishing you good fortune on your endeavor. Keep up the great work.
Good to see Bobby on video again, Justin no matter how many break downs and screw ups you have on the job it won't be anything Bobby hasn't seen or been through, that man knows he done worked in his life. If possible hiring a man like Bobby can make the difference in you succeeding or not, I've been farming for myself for 32 years now the advantages of having a person like Bobby on the job is not only can he keep the job moving he can see how what you doing today will impact the job a couple weeks or more down the road!! Also I love that you kept Bobby's theme song!! Joe South The Games people play In life you will understand and appreciate that song more and more!! Good luck bud hope it all works out!!
I've worked hard like these fellas but I've damn near gotten rid of all of my old equipment..from skid steers to container movers ...old military trucks and all
If ever a young businessman gets the opportunity to pick the brain of a truly great business leader,, PRICELESS…networking & haggling/dickering are crucial… miss you bobby & crew !! and good luck youngbuck 🇺🇸
Good to see a young man starting his own business and buying up machines to better his company. Good luck young man and be safe logging is one of the most Dangerous jobs to do
Hey Justin !! WOW !!! You just can't win a break !!!! 1st it was the log truck parked with NO brakes set & Now this issue with another driver !!! Hope next week is better for you !!! 🤔🙄
I drove truck for 19 years , the last job I had was hauling logs. I"ve seen it all. I would let that guy go. Dont cuss him out, just telling he needs to go haul boxes till he gets better at trucking. Keep at it man. Your young and strong you will make good in life if you hire the right hands and treat them better than family. They will make or break you. Good luck.
Wrong advice you don’t let someone go because his made a mistake you teach and train him I worked for telephone company and drove TT trucks you got 4 weeks of training I worked there for 38 years
Great advice, you can tell shitty employees giving advice…. Keep them, hold their hand, etc. Facts are if you paying the bills, you can’t afford stupid people. Don’t pay for their education on your equipment.
26 year career Sketch Face Veneer Operations myself with Thomasville Furniture Industries 1979-2005. We bought millions of feet of imported exotic veneer from Manfred Bolke. On occasion He would fly us to and from the Mill in Ohio on his Learjet. Good to see someone from Bolke Veneer. Had the pleasure of meeting Nascar owner Rick Hendrick at the mill on one occasion. He was there selecting veneer for a new yacht he was having built. Looking forward to following you on this journey logging. Be safe 👍👍
I'm glad to see that the younger generation is keeping the logging industry a live. I'm a Ol school logger from N.C. I'm Bobby's age and he is a good friend of mine but he had a larger company than i. I'm looking forward to watch your videos and i'm a Subsctiber of your Channel. (RET) From the trucking of Logging and i now live in Henrico. Va. Keep a straight chin running your business. '' BONECRUSHER "" class of 82. Stay Safe and blessed young man.
Great video Justin, don't get discouraged this happens to us all, you are not alone my friend. Keep pushing forward and better days are ahead.. Stay safe out there my friend and keep the videos coming and always travel safely catch you on the next one.
I think when hiring people you need to test them on the spot for hooking up a trailer, unhooking, reversing, take them for a test drive and see what they do before hiring, where the truck ended up in the ditch was just plain lazy and stupid on the drivers behalf, I used to watch mr bobby alot on tv and now on youtube, he seems like a good honest man and won’t do you wrong, best of luck young fella
When you go with cheap help, you get cheap! I experienced this 1st hand last year. Cheap help is not skilled and skilled help is not cheap! The cheap help costs you money in the long run! Every time.
Any help is very hard to come by these days. Folks promise the world and can’t preform. Trial and error with each situation.. Also some help is teachable and other help is not.
@@Backwoodsloggers We started a very hard weed out routine. You going to do grunt work without complaining for three months then we can see. You are right about some people are not trainable. Three months and you can tell if they are trainable. 90 probation is for a reason, and we use it.
Yeah, I know the feeling on it. We weed them out as well. Hard to find quality drivers. That’s the toughest thing for us. But another day another dollar spent. Just keep chugging along… Just glad no one got hurt
It’s good to see you again Bobby you were my favorite logger from the show when I watched you were real that’s what I appreciated about you. Them other guys were kinda fake and just doing dumb sht for the show. I hope you and your family are doing well im happy to see you are in good health still. God bless ya Bobby 👍🏻
Young man stay true to your self and you will do great things I’m from Jacksonville nc and Bobby is good people and a great person looking forward to more of your videos love to see young men and women step out and show what they are capable of doing you have a fan here and we are rooting for you
I'm a shoe string log outfit myself so never say quit young man . I've got a 3 man crew me myand I but we all started somewhere say keep your chin up and keep em moving .
Experience is key in Driving especially Driving Big Rig and you learn from your mistakes but if someone just keeps screwing up over and over and not learning from there mistakes then you have no choice but to let them go because their mistakes are going to end up costing the company, but it looked like Barney phiff didn't show up to issue any citations for Blocking the Road way, I like this kind of content and will be looking forward to future video's.
Hauling logs is different from almost anything else. Every load is top heavy and that makes for a sketchy ride. You have to take turns slow and think 2 steps ahead. You can't just be joy riding like you're empty. If the driver doesn't understand this they will mess up every time.
As soon as I seen the name Bobby I knew it was Bobby Goodson of all terrain. Congratulations on the business. And the experience to be around an awesome company owner
If the deals hes making on the timber involves removing the stumps after hes done clear cutting the timber he might be better off with something like D8 with a Vee blade or a KG blade, digging the stumps out one at a time is gonna be slow and expensive, that old vee blade will take them out with one pass, ive got a 7 with a KG blade and it does really good but i still find its light if you cutting stumps. That old Pepsi trailer was a dam good deal it had 5000 dollars of hyd lines made up in it!!
Great video. With Bobby s help I'm sure this young man will go far. Admire how he kept his temper ( well on camera anyway)😂 . Looking forward to seeing more. Regards to the family and Bobby from across the pond 🇬🇧
Keep up at it young man you have a great deal going thanks for showing us your bad day to I hope that young driver learned something and would know how not to get in that spot again when I was young an coming up I had some patient men show me how to do it if you can learn from your mistakes an grow could be a great driver we’ve all been in a tight spot before take care look forward to seeing more !
I always loved to watch swap loggers wirh Mr. Bobby i think that he is just an incredible man and ive always thought that he would have been a great person fo work for extremely honest and fair hard to find a man like him to work for nowadays
From a old school veteran . My family has logged for like for ever . My grandpa got killed doing this years ago.. all my family are still in logging.. I THINK YOU NEED SOME GOOD HELP.. I ALSO THINK YOUR GOOD YOUNG MAN . WORKING HARD MOST DON'T NO WHAT THAT IS ... WORK DON'T GIVE UP YOUR DOING GREAT.... HARD WORK DON'T HURT MUCH LOL. BE SAFE AND GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY..
Bobby is truly one of the greatest people anyone could meet. He’s a man that values hard work and our savior Jesus Chris. The lord has blessed this man and everyone around him.
