In this episode, Justin and the crew are dealing with small setbacks...but those are the ones that are usually take time and money.
Next week Justin is planning to head back out to Bobby's to get the Pepsi trailer and drag it back to Virginia. With saw breakdowns, land disputes and truck issues, Justin is trying to get ahead on things so he will be able to make the trip.

I’ve changed the brakes on my vehicles numerous times without issue. About a month ago, I was driving out a stubborn guide pin and the pin finally let loose, ricocheted and hit my eyeball-coming within 2 millimeters of the cornea. I was very lucky. It took 2 weeks to heal , but you can be only so tough until you loose an eye.

Here's a tip from an amateur. Get spare parts and chains. Especially a sprocket. That was preventable you must not do any maintenance or you would see it wearing out. I don't go on any job without multiple spare bars chains ect. Skip/full. Minimum of 20s 24s. Sometimes I carry 16-36" bars. I have a box with every bolt nut mount spring ect any piece of hardware the saws have all organized. Extra clutches hubs sprockets 7-8 pin. Extra ropes and starter assemblies ect. When I'm around "real" loggers on jobs they always have issues and never any parts. I tore a tensioner out running the rakers too low in my hybrid flat top 64/66 on a job. No big deal because I had extra 66 tensioners in my box. Also extra 66s. I always have multiple saws. I don't understand how big outfits can't be prepared......

When I logged for a living I would buy the big role of chain saw chain it costs up front but it will definitely save you time and money in the long run definitely with new work hands not having to run to town every time something happens will save you money bud

I agree 100%, also a chain breaker and joiner, make up a few spare chains to have on site, also have a ready supply of sprockets on site as well,that being said hats off to this young bloke with his work ethic and for giving it a go, I am sure he will be very successful in everything he does and he is an awesome role model for young men and women . 1

All it takes is one accident to end it all and being on youtube now you will have a much bigger audience if ya know what i mean. Appreciate you taking the time amd wish you the best.

Justin when you mark a property line when cutting timber spray paint the line on the trees, that's the oldest trick in the book 2 land owners who disagree they will pull the flags or property markers everytime, but if you spray paint the trees on the line they screwed

I ran one mill and was a assistant General Manager over 5 mills . Spare parts will save you a lot of them 50 dollar bills . And sometimes you just have to eat some downtime and fix it right the first time so you don’t have so many little break downs they are the ones that will eventually break you beyond reasonable repair.

Hey Justin !!! Well, that was a lot of set backs that you really didn't need for sure !!!! With securing the logs on the trailers , you might want to look at " Stan Wedekind's " videos of --Jan hauling off Ball Mtn. parts 1 & 2 & see what they use for tiedowns as a lot faster & easier to work with ???? Hope you have better days coming with Bobby's help !!! 👍👍👍👍👍

HI FROM NEW HAMPSHIRE Its great to see you able to run in the game of logging, i know its hard to make a show thats not ; chop, pull, chop stack, lol My kids and nephews like your new show. Now that you're a movie star you gotta run head gear and chaps triming defects off the loggs with the saw on film. Because you would like to go big with this and not crippled, rite? Try Lebonvill's logging supply, they are a family owned company up in the north cuntry here and there make most of there gear in house. And OSHA rated. I like them and I use their products. Now im off to see your other videos

Every time I call out property marking companies I call the local PD... That way if anything is altered I have my proof... You can get people in a shit load of trouble for meddling in serious things like this...two folks about six years ago moved flags and ended up paying for the survey company to redo the flags after the constable got involved

Well my Son - if you wanna carry on as you are out in the boonies - expect you can same as we could over here in the U.K. but if I was to put videos of it up on RU-vid with so many identifiers - I'd expect a mass visit from the Health & Safety folk in very short order. One job I was on recently had an oil company fuel line running through it and they were checking us out without drones and helicopter.

I done cut so many trees with a feller buncher most the time I can look at it from the cab and tell if the property line is correct or not. Most the time there’s a timber change or land change on the property line and get the actual plats from the court house if your unsure. OnX is known to be slightly off sometimes. Those hand pumps are sold at Napa. Look past the pump on the side of the hydraulic tank and it’s a sight glass you can see how much oil is in it. The oil needs to be 2in or so above the sensor beside the sight glass for the alarm not to be going off. You can pour the oil directly out the bucket into the tank from the top but the pump has a separate filter. Sit the bucket of oil in the truck for little while with the heater on high makes it easier on the pump in winter. I put up a few logging videos now and then. I’m in lacrosse va
@Backwoodsloggers
@Backwoodsloggers 9 месяцев назад
Yeah, got the hand pump back working pretty quick. Finally found the culprit to the oil leakage. Was the swivel in the grapple needed replaced.

Justin, you need to buy saw supplies from Madsens in Washington. Make your own chain for a third of that price. I bent hundreds of links in my career, just grab the chain each side of the bent link and straighten it best you can to get it back in the bar. It'll rub for a minute but will be just fine once it cuts a tree or 2.

hello again from hthe Philippies. I know that Bobby Goodson is going to come back at me with this comment but I got to say it. GET RID OF THOSE LOG TRUCKS FOR NOW. hire the hauling. your only expense other than your logging costs is the haul .NO INS, COSTS ,NO FUEL COSTS ,NO EXPENSES AT ALL. I would sell off that tree cutting machine. Hire independent fallers for now. I would buy if I could a good used Dozer with logging winch and arch and a brush rake downsize your skidders. To me they are way out of proportion to the size of your operation, downsize for now as your business grows so will your equipment. . Also, if you are buying diesel fuel for both your truck and equipment Buy a large 15k 20k gallon size fuel tank and take advantage of the off-road diesel tax. if you have a good accountant and a good attorney talk to both of them about my suggestions if you don't have you need to get both NOW. If I was anyway close to you I would stop by and see your operation, but hahahah I am halfway around the world. hope I haven't upset you or given you the wrong impression.
