0:59 | 1:48 It's like Jackman keeps slipping into a Brooklyn-esque accent when as Wolverine. He not only does it in these scenes, but a few more such as when Wolverine helps Professor X into a stall and when he tells Laura that he never asked for the movie's events to happen.

Small detail: when Logan mentions the boat, Charles asks “Will you be safe there?” Not we, he. Charles is more concerned for Logan’s safety over his own. Probably cuz Charles knows his time is almost up anyway and Logan by comparison is suffering a lot more than he is. So Charles is probably hoping the ocean will be a safe place for Logan where he could hopefully find peace.

The idea of Laura needing a father and needing an adult in order to protect them from harm. And for someone to guide Laura through society. In this case, Logan. As Gabriela puts it, "she's not my child but I love her. You may not love her but she's your child."

7:50-7:51 Funny and clever, given later on ---SPOILERS--- Logan uses a gun to kill Zander Rice and cripple Donald Pierce. The sheer genius behind what'd normally be anticlimactic in any other setting, but NOT if the protagonist has both a distaste for firearms AND a history in using his claws.

crazy that logan went through everything from the first trilogy to days of future past just to end up arguably worse off than the sentinel future as at least in that timeline he had his friends by his side when they all die in a final hoorah but this one he loses them all in the worst way
