Logan's Fort, An Early Homestead during Westward Expansion: Revolutionary War Kentucky

My ancestor John “Governor” Bennett settled No Creek Kentucky after the Revolutionary War. He was granted 1100 acres by the Continental Congress for his Service during the war. Fought with the 1st Maryland at the battle of Long Island. Was Aide de camp to Washington staff at brandywine. Captured after brandywine sent to Locke jail in Queen Anne’s County Md, trades at and became Commandant of Ft Fredrick. Then was commissioned Captain of the 34th Maryland Battalion Militia after Edgar Allen Poes uncle was killed. 34th Maryland was sent to Southern Maryland to disrupt Supplies/Shipping in the Chesapeake Bay.
