Eureka! This is a perfect workaround for the fact that the snare side stick is SO much louder than the snare center in any given kit. You can't change their volumes independently. If you change one, the other changes with it. But with this hack you can dedicate a track to the two different snare sounds and just lower the intensity of the track with the side stick! Fixed! Thank you!!! 👌

I wish they’d fix the drum notation in Score Editor. So many steps to make it work.

The problem with this example is you've got a 1/8th note high-hat pattern, plus a flam on the snare, which cannot be easily performed. You should instead keep the h-hat pattern on your Drummer track, but mute it by turning off the volume, then add your own h-hat pattern on a separate track to taste.

I’m always looking to get more out of the drummer, but It’s not that obvious what problem is actually being solved here?

This technique gives you more options for the drum tracks. For example, you can change the complexity of the snare drum, but not the kick drum if you're using multiple session players in this way. Also, as I do in the video, you could change the hat pattern by editing and still be able to adjust the kicking snare using the controls the drummer track provides.
