I like both routes because It showcases Damons talent at winning any debate even without proof. It makes his talent seem useful compared to Makato and Shuichi.
Why those too? Shuichi also definitely used his talent in the trials to prove his point and to keep winning without any actual evidence (using the trust they put in him as a detective). Makoto on the other hand was commented on by Junko and multiple other characters in the series as pretty much being almost supernaturally charismatic.
Both work well in my opinion, but I agree. Damon simply saying "Ultimates know what theyre talking about" is a weak argument that only works because Wolfgang is more popular than Wenona or Eva. Why not trust in Evas talent just as much as Wolfgangs? My guess is that the pathos mechanic will just be optional dialogue until the later chapters when we start to see Damon start to care more intensely about the group. The tutorial saying it will always be optional is a barefaced lie.
@@demosthenes995 While I get what you mean, I disagree. The ''trusting in talent'' logic only works when said talent actually relates to the matter at hand. Wolfgang has spent his entire caree as a lawyer, and being the ultimate lawyer he'd have more experience and understanding about crime cases and the culprits motive/mindset because of that. Against someone like him, why trust Eva? The literal ultimate LIAR? Her talent doesn't serve any purpose in this trial other than misleading the group. And while the others have more legitiment talents, they all lack the expertise to make trustworthy arguments about the killer's morals or intentions without evidence. Like, regarding medicine, you'd listen to the doctor rather than some average joe, right? It's kinda like that. If that makes sense.
@@demosthenes995 I don't know about me, Desmon has shown from the beginning that he has a prejudiced and idealized version of being "Ultimate". For me both versions are faithful to his character.

Yeah, maybe the VA's intention was to sound "mysterious" and "aloof" but the results sounds more like very anxious Toko-style, which doesn't seem to match with Eva's behavior.
To me it just sounds like her tone of voice idk how to explain it like y'know how some people are just naturally nasally? Honestly it sounds fine to me and gives her a bit of character ig. She pulls off the nonchalant pretty well
tbh I like how more emotional her voice sounds, since what would seem to be the more obvious choice is to give her a flat, emotionless voice. idk I feel it actually fits/helps her role more bc it makes her sound more genuine, thus aid in her lying.
@@otherside4 I would agree if she had the behavior to match that, but since she doesn't (she is openly cynical and seems stoic most of the time), I feel it makes her sound more confusing than genuine.
The fake trial made me want more to have a fan-made title where no one die and they just solve old mysteries. I mean, it's always cool to have everyone participate in the class trial and made it to the end instead of not having the chance, most of them even end up not knowing the truth. 2:12 Also I KNEW there was a difference path, thanks for showing it!
Honestly I want this to be a thing. Like instead of just a murder court room that could solve other crimes as well… though you do have to admit, the murder adds something to the story that other crimes don’t.
@@maddiemcnugget1076 Personally, I'd prefer to go with the DR2 route where the dead ones end up still alive, making it more like they were just out of the game. I truly wish S DR Another 2 did that.
@@mvps02 I also recommend Yanganronpa by Dacorn. It's not a game but it's a RU-vid series that does have a rough beginning, but gets way better overtime.
I wonder if these kinds of choices would influence the game. The "Emotional Route" feels like it added "affective points" to Wolfgang for not saying Damon is more sociable. The "Logical Route" reaches the same conclusion as the emotional one but there is no scene of trust and friendship between the Ultimate.
It almost makes sense, since afterwards, Damon admonishes most of the other ultimates for being worthless. So believing Wolfgang for his talent while also telling everyone else that they suck is not exactly... Logical I suppose?
@@thoet7270 Then again he stayes their are some exceptions such as himself, Wenona and Im guessing Wolfgang as well considering his reaction to hearing it at the beginning.
It's nice to see an alternate back route from perjury, but man, with logic you build more credibility AND you end up figuring out more about the case. Shoutout to Grace for pressing everyone about the bleach, cuz that turned out to be key for proving more premeditation than excusable self-defense. In this route, you can see for yourself, without relying on blind faith, what provoked Wolfgang to boil over, AND by addressing Eva's skepticism, you manage to settle any reasonable doubt. It strengthens the whole case.
I'm still relatively new to this game and can't wait to see what comes off it, so just like other games I'm introduced to I just throw my theory out there. I'll be honest, I hated Damon because of how he acts, but it's realistic so I can't argue with it either. For me, the logic vs emotion may play a really important part later on depending on how players utilize it. Keeping through the logic route will keep Damon's personality and mentality constant, but with emotion he'll slowly grow to trust others and even break down the walls he has built up. This of course may end in one of two ways. He may be given the chance to commit murder, so as the player you could choose who to kill, how to carry it out and hide the evidence. Then when the class trial is held you can stir it up so that you're not pinned as the culprit. Depending on your options, it'll go two ways. Logic: You'll have everyone vote for the falsely accused, so only Damon will leave alive. He knows that this route will grant him survival and freedom, so he'll do it without a second thought. Emotion: He may back out and flat out confess to the crime so that they don't lose their lives. Heck, he may not even commit the crime in the first place and be more open with the group when the next murder does occur. Again, just my theory but I'm really excited to see what this game brings to the table as it develops.
It could be possible that the game might split at some point and becomes two separate routes, but I doubt they’ll go into more specifics, like letting the player choose who to kill, how to kill, etc. Simply because something like this would require a ton of work and a hell load of programming. Danganronpa was originally like that, supposedly the game was gonna have several routes, depending on the level of trust you had with everyone the victim and the killer would change, but they realized that the quantity of work and how the story would eventually branch out into so many different scenarios was just way too much work. But anything could happeeen, this is a fangame after all, and you never know
I like this theory! Especially with the idea of Damon killing. Might be a bit elaborate but we will see. It supports and opposes a theory I have. Tozu and the organization trying to push Damon to represent the devil. It supports damon representing the sinful tendencies of humanity. It goes against it because that’s damon representing humanity’s free will on the terrible side (that’s why Christians, Jewish, and Muslims believe God is good while bad things happen. Free will of humans to do what we want). The pathos route can lead damon to either understand and love his classmates so much that he can’t kill them or use their emotions against them and tempt one of them to murder. But I wouldn’t be mad regardless how it goes… as long as it makes sense and the writers use the concept to its full potential.
I was kinda confused when I watched the pathos or emotion route. The explanation about the killer's motive didn't really stood out to me, it just seemed like Damon is siding with Wolfgang with no real explanation. So I really loved this choice, the logic route. It explained even further and as some of the people in this comment section might say, it does seem like this choice would be more appropriate with Damon's attitude. Also knowing that there are routes in this fangan reminds me so much of undertale, with how the pacifist and the genocide route affects the flow of the story. It may be possible that these choices or routes may affect the story as a whole but I also wouldn't be suprised if it didn't.
if this could lead to different outcomes, maybe it could lead to a different fate for characters, but this is new so idk how well this route could be implemented in the story. Logic? Or emotion? This could work well for any character tbh
Stupid idea I had but maybe doing Logic or Emotion changes the fate of either Eva or Wolfgang. (Also gets ample time to flesh out the ship in the route you choose LOL)
Yes, remember what the tutorial said "Even if you will always be able to avance the Debate with pure logic, some pathos mechanic will lead to new dialogue" In the tutorial they made very clear that the pathos are optional, so it will be interesting to see how this will be implemented in futures trials
I think most let’s players speed past the instructions unless there’s something new 😂 especially the last part that says there will always be a logic route. I think that’s why the official walkthrough went page by page on the instructions.
Wow! Didn't even know this route existed! I believe most people never found this route due to the presentation of the pathos bullet. Thanks for presenting it to us though, this one was more intense than the other argument we could do regarding the pathos bullet.
im glad you actually have to prove yourself, if you take the logical route you need to prove yourself further yet if ousue the pathos statements which is harder you appeal to people's emotions and progress causing less questions i love that detail and hope it stays!
The most fun thing is how easy it is to do this in the future for them. The way the engine works is by having a nonstop debate builder which holds all of the info about the nonstop debate, text, weakpoints, truth bullets, and in the nsd builder you can make a weakpoint be correct and from off of that you input a dialogue file. its so simple and interesting.
Since this feels like the perjury, i feel like Pathos is the "bad" of the side since the game seems to take a theme of Emotion vs Logic. Since the host has a very theatric personality (emotion) meanwhile Damon, Eva and Wolfgang (a bit) are more logical

I didn't know I had to use [E] even though it told me too and I took THIS route, but then I was looking at youtubers taking the OTHER one and I was like: "oh! I was suppose to take that one.."
This reminds of the lying mechanic in Danganronpa V3 where at certain times you can lie about evidence or use the truth. In that game it didn't really change anything, only some dialogue though I wonder if it'll be different here.

Does the difficulty of the game affect how fast they speak in the debates? When I was playing it I had the Difficulty on mean for both and I swear they were all coffee addicts.

Yes. The pathos mechanic is 100% optional. You will be able to beat the game without using it ever, aka, only using logic. Pathos is kinda like the backroutes you got by lying in V3
@@AlphaPizzadog Cara' s dead may took a big role in the feature of the game, idk her dead and all just seem suspicious to me i just think this may be important for the story, so probably we eventually know why she has a gun, all i can think of Is that she was on a killing game, like Damon says the murder was definilly planned just like in Danganronpa killing games, she may had the gun for self-defense?
Does "Items needed to set up the bucket trap" work, too? Because unless we have any proof there wasn't a working water source in the kitchen, then the fact the killer used bleach, not water, indicates malicious intent.
The closet didn't have any water and only had bleach. It would make sure that the victim was unable to see which would imply self-defense. The time they would set the trap up would imply that the culprit didn't want to just blind the victim and run away/kill with a single shot, but to make the victim suffer by stabbing multiple times while she struggled.

You can opt to use others commentary (Purple text) to make a pathos argument. But this is doing it the same way as you'd normally do, by using truth bullet hence the logic route.
@@SalwaCreationTime I disagree. Damon really has an idealized view of Ultimates and still acknowledges Talent if apparent. His jab at the other Ultimates wasn't directed at Wolfgang (or Wenona, as he confirmed post-trial). In other words, the emotional talk about trusting in Wolfgan's talent as a lawyer makes sense for his character as well.
