FYI, for the last 3 years Logitech has refused to address a backlighting issue that owners have been tirelessly waiting for. The backlighting turns off after a few seconds, and the proximity sensor isn't sensitive enough, so when you put your fingers near the keys, they don't light up right away, which makes you wait or press the wrong keys. You can see this in the video. You may not notice this at first, but it will definitely become a problem after long term use. All they needed to do is make the backlighting timer adjustable like on the new version. So now we have no choice but to spend more money on a new "S" version of the keyboard instead of them making the feature available. Doesn't speak very highly to their customer service.
@@jkbrwn I think it was reddit or something where a bunch of owners were complaining about the backlighting being so short and no ability to keep it on. That's where I heard the new "S" version lets you do it. But at that point I had just bought mine and wasn't keen on giving Logitech any more money for their keyboards based on my experience.
@@jkbrwn In this video you can see the new app for the "S" allows you to set the timeout to at least 10 minutes by dragging the slider halfway, so I'm guessing all the way to the right is either always on or at least 20 minutes, which is far better than the non-S. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Wmtah5R-r_4.html
Very clear. Only lacks the wrist-holder that sometimes comes with, which, it seems, cannot be physically attached to the keyboard, which is very confusing. Great job!
Nicely done and to the point of the review! Well paced and spoken information. Logitech has always made possibly the best keyboards and mice in my experience.
Posting this incase anyone has the issue of lag and spamming letters, The reason its acting up is that it is connected with both the bluetooth and the dongle which interferes both the connections and causes it to lag and spam letters. The way you fix it is by removing the device from ur bluetooth and logioptions+ app and started from a clean slate, then finally connecting through either one of the two methods ie. Bluetooth or Dongle. For bluetooth ignore the logioptions+ app you don't need it. Just simply press and hold one of the 3 device buttons you have on ur keyboard to enter pairing mode and then add it from windows bluetooth settings as you would normally add any bluetooth device, you need to type in the code displayed and press enter and you're good to go. For connecting with dongle you plug the dongle in, then use logioptions+ app and select add device then click on the MX Keys S (This is written for this specific keyboard) and then connect, type in the code press enter and boom, you're done. Do either one of these and not both together as doing both causes the problem. No more weird stuff hopefully :)
I appreciate your review on the Logitech MX S Keyboard. I just bought it and I really like it. It has great functionality and is comfortable to type. The only issue I am having is sometimes when I’m typing a letter decides to go rough and runs thru - RRRRRRRRRR. Any letter. It doesn’t seem like the key is stuck on the keyboard. I use it for work and so I’m not able to download the APP on the company computer. What would you recommend? I would appreciate your advice. 6:55
Guys I found it. The reason its acting up is that it was connected with both the bluetooth and the dongle which interferes both the connections and causes it to lag and spam letters. (@aleimiret4192 you can use this method for your work computer) For connecting with dongle you plug the dongle in, then use logioptions+ app and select add device then click on the MX Keys S (This is written for this specific keyboard) and then connect, type in the code press enter and boom, you're done. Hi there, yeah everything is made of plastic. It looks kind of like metal just because it has a gloss finish. Regardless of the plastic material, it's still a very nice quality keyboard
Does anyone have a clue to fix my issue? With Bluetooth everything works fine but I want to use the keyboard also when booting/ restart my laptop. I wanna use the Mx keys mini with the Bolt receiver but it doesn’t work. I’ve tried multiple options: used different bolt receivers I own, reset the keyboard , switched between the 3 connecting buttons,,.. it’s my business laptop and I have no admin access to install the logi options software. Btw with my regular Mx keys (for business) and its logi bolt it works perfectly fine. 🤔
so you set the backlit duration to 5 sec but your hover demo shows it turn off before the 5 sec elapsed. does removing your hand just turn off the backlighting regardless of the interval you set in setting?
I edited the waiting part out to shave off a few seconds from the video (I value your time 🙂) The backlights will stay on until the backlight duration timer finishes counting down. So if you set it to 10 seconds, it will turn off 10 seconds later if there is no hand movement. If there's hand movement the light will stay turned on. Hope that helps ~
Professionals to increase their productivity. The biggest lie i have ever heard. This is a keyboard, which you can use in the office without disturbing anyone. A nice alternative who prefer mechanical keyboards.
I want to like this keyboard but one thing that really irritates me about it and some of the others is the keys themselves! I’ve been looking at Logitech’s mechanical keyboards and the Mx keys series both full and tkl. I know they’re leaning heavily on the device switching functionality but I’m a Mac user ONLY! Windows is a curse word in my house 😂. I absolutely hate the things. I’m all in on the Apple ecosystem and I don’t want to see the keys referencing windows crap. The old MX keys seem to have this Mac layout minus the relocation of the function key. Not that big of a deal. The tkl versions take away the forward and back media controls which I do use quite often. The Apple Magic Keyboard is nice but not so ergonomic when moving from a MacBook plus they’re too snobby to simply add backlighting. That one issue alone caused me to remove their keyboard from my cart. They make plenty of options for windows but it seems like a Mac user is an after thought. Like if you use Mac you must also have a windows machine you need to pair to as well? I don’t and never will again. I’d like the keys to remain where they are on my MacBook except the arrow keys can be moved and increased in size and add on the number pad. I don’t get it. Mac users deserve better and stop trying to lump me in with windows 😂.
THE ONLY THING I DIDN'T LIKE IS THAT THE COLOR OF THE LETTERS IS SO OPAQUE THAT IT ONLY LOOKS WELL IN A ROOM WITH VERY GOOD LIGHTING. I always have a dim light and I have to activate the key light.
