Like most who tuned into this review, I'm looking to upgrade from my lowly Thrustmaster T150 to an entry DD. But What to choose? Logitec? Thrustmaster? Moza? Fanatec? Camus? Now if you compared ALL of them, you'd get 10M views for sure!!!!! :D
@@virtualawakening2299 I will once I have spent quality time with the CSL DD. However, all my reviews take a lot of time because they're thorough and my time is limited. But a video like this is in the works
I don't usually comment on videos like this, but I just got my Logitech Pro today in the mail after watching this a few days ago. I have been previously playing on the CSL DD 8nm with the Podium F1 and CSL V2 pedals. My CSL DD has been having some connectivity issues (exactly what Tiametmarduk - Ben had) and I know Logitech is renowned for their attention to detail. I launched G-Hub which was all new to me and tinkered with some settings. I then launched F1 22 just to get a feel for the wheel and pedals, and I was unbelievably surprised. In fact, I love this bundle so much that I'm just returning my CSL DD and selling my wheel/pedals (they're literally already on the market). Playing ACC just sold it all. Now for context, I'm in the top 1% (p30-p80) of all Time Trial tracks on F1 22 and play with 110% AI, so I'm very experienced and actually want to start a channel or competing professionally. Nevertheless, the one track that I have always struggled with is Suzuka. I don't know why. My brain just puts up a block to it. Monaco I'm ranked P12, Suzuka I was P80. It's ridiculous. I immediately went to it, put my setup on, and shaved .872ths off my lap time on my third time around. You feel literally everything in a way that my Fanatec couldn't even register. Going through the 'S' Curvers, and especially Degner and Spoon (where I lost the bulk of my time), I was immediately smiling. I've adjusted my pedals, but otherwise, straight out of the box, it's incredible. You can actually feel the car sink in dips, rise over crests, lean into the corners, scrape the ground, you can feel the oversteer before it actually snaps as if you're actually in the car, and I've been able to run setups far more on the nose (naturally quicker) because I'm comfortably on the edge constantly. You actually *feel* the weight of the car, including weight transfer. Obviously it's not perfect. Nothing is. It is bulky, so I could see that being an issue for shorter people (I'm 6'8"/203.2cm so it doesn't bother me). All of this is to say that I'm very impressed, and I seriously hope that they come out with a GT/F1 wheel QUICK. On some tracks, I haven't shaved off much time, but the feeling is just incredible. This will hands down be my setup moving forward into the future. I know that it's weird hearing a good review, but this was worth every penny. It comes with a two year warranty too, so yeah, it's expensive, but it will last and with the detachable wheels, 11nm, and adjustable pedals, you'll never have to buy another one again. Seriously. This outclasses Fanatec for the same price, and that's saying something. Bravo Logitech.
I just ordered mine yesterday, I'm on console (waiting to build a PC) so my choices where limited. Trying to get the fanatec gt bundle 5 or 9nm was sold out(forever). So after hearing about this I checked it out. And like most ppl I started with my wheel n shifter being a G923 for the last 4yrs. So at 11nm it wasn't 2 much or 2 little. And most reviews have been nice since it was what most of us pop our 🍒 on. So till in on PC this is it, and can wait to see what there wheels are gonna look like! 👍🏾
I've had Logitech wheels since the Driving Force Pro. Never had an issue. I do use electric contact cleaner on the pedal pots once a year when cleaning. I might just have to try this one. My G29 is six years old. Time to move up. I moved up. They had a discount on the pedals if bought together. What a difference. I'm glad I did it. More to come,,,
@@LaurenceDusoswa Yes. A Fanatec setup was a lot more expensive with import fees, taxes and delivery charges. Plus most bundles were sold out. This was considerably less and had it in 6 days. I bought a TH8A shifter for now. My son gets the G29 setup. He wants to try sim racing.
Bought this bundle for $700 brand new. Can't complain. Its better than the csl dd 8Nm I had. The pedals are similar feel to Fanatec V3 but cheaper and easier to adjust. Oh, its stronger than 8Nm.
@@LaurenceDusoswa purchased the bundle directly from Logitech. Somebody had posted a 50% off discount code on any purchase on reddit late October of last year. Tried it out and sure enough 50% off the purchase of any 1 item so made 2 separate purchases for wheel and pedals. I just got lucky, I guess. I'm loving the wheel.
NIce review dude! Logi's missed the mark price-wise, but I'm glad they're finally mixing it up in the DD market. Long overdue. I started on the G25 15 years ago, so I root for em in that regard. Looking forward to their add-on products!
I think they will still sell lots of them but the price isn’t where we imagined Logitech. Maybe that perspective is what they want to change. I dunno. It’s amazing to have a powerhouse like Logitech enter the DD game
@@LaurenceDusoswa Yes they missed the mark, since it will actually be available unlike competitors, it has Logitech sticker and it will be sold in local retail store, most people would pay even more for it.
Idk why people say this, it's the same price as the Moza R9 and Fanatec CSL DD including steering wheel and shipping, and provides way more power and response. Missed the mark price wise? Nah bro lol.
My general view on the whole unit is this: If it was priced 750-900 euro for wheelbase + rim + pedals, sure. But 1.500 euro? You could buy a CSL DD + the new V2's and a good rim, and still have money left. I think they are really going to piss of some of their loyal customers with this, and I really hope I am wrong. The pricing is just bonkers, which just taints the view of the whole unit. Which in itself is a shame, because it looks like it is pretty decent. Other than being sooooo massive in size. And also worth mentioning, great review again Laurence! Good shots, and honest opinions.
Thanks man! I wonder if this DD will stand the test of time like the Logitech gXX wheels have done. People complain about the price of those too I guess.
Base and rim is easily competitive with the Fanatec - it's got close to 50% more torque, and a quick release that destroys the QR1. Pedals - just but a different set.
It is very interesting to see that brands like Logitech and Thrustmaster are entering the DD market. We'll have to see what's to come in the future in terms of this eco-system. Thanks for the review!
Havent been following simracing much lately but that caught me completly by suprise. Good job logitech. Not a dragged out sh*tshow like a certain competitor that to my knowledge still hasnt fully released their DD offering let alone have it ready for order.
What? Good job for Logitec not selling it at brick and mortar stores at all? That's not a sh*tshow??? For real? No one will buy this overpriced sh*t. It's just a facelift to keep their aging geared wheels afloat. This will be dropped and forgotten and replaced by their true DD wheel, still in development. They are just saving face, or facelifting their image.
@@virtualawakening2299 Not sure why youre just raging at a 3month old comment of me on a review of something that appears to be the worsst thing ever released to you. If its so bad, then why are you here? All I said was gj for just releasing it and bringing out a pretty decent option. With some discounts id say thats a pretty competitive base when youre in need of console compatibility etc. And at the time thrustmaster still didnt have their wheelbase out, that they announced mid 2021 to be released at the end of 2021 and instead all we got was a 5 part announcement starting in january of february of this year with it coming to an end in mid 2022 to finally just ANNOUNCE the final release of their wheelbase, which at that point is just a total joke to me. I wouldnt buy the logitech dd base either, but there will be a market for it for some people, so whatever. So keep your toxicity together.
12:18 What this means is it has a high slew rate for a motor of the same torque range. This translates into a high jerk rate (which is the rate of change in acceleration with respect to time). This is what's inherently better about DD wheels over belt/gear driven ones. Sounds like they've just taken it another level with the motor in question.
Not sure this is for me but this thing will sell like hot cakes. What many people are not considering is the quality and support that Logitech brings to the table. There is a huge market for a wheel that is plug and play right out of the box, reliable AND works with console. For many this will be a no brainer despite the price.
I paid 1700 CAD for a Logitech Pro wheel and pedals about 14 months ago. And would do it again no questions asked. Every time I want to play it works. Software issues - none. And when I need customer support, I imagine it will be leaps and bounds better than Fanatec. Which, from what I've read, is a nightmare.
I upgraded from a 17 year old G25 with shifter and a playseat evo, to the pro wheel , pro pedals, Fanatec 1.5 shifter, Moza handbrake all attached to a play seat trophy, could not be happier!. I have tested a Moza R12 and a Fanatec csl 8nm and like the pro wheel much better.
@@LaurenceDusoswa The pro surprised me when I tried it, I ordered it the same day. I was going to get a profile rig after having a go in a few different profile setups, sat in a Trophy and it's really comfortable and easy to move around with almost zero flex when you are using it.
For the first time in forever, they finally release a new lineup of sim racing products. The price is a bit high compared to their competitors, I hope this product can sell well in the market. Great review LD!
It's not high compared to competitors. The only other company making anything as high quality as this is Fanatec and their bundles to get a similar amount of torque in the wheelbase and load cell pedals is almost the exact same price range, but this offers more features and more customizeable for the same price range. It's not unreasonable at all. It's actually a solid price.
@@virtualawakening2299 no, this is a niche line targeting hardcore enthusiasts. This wouldn’t sell at retail stores because the volume isn’t there to make it worth the shelf space.
Great review, ordered mine 2 weeks ago, pedals arrived but waiting for the wheel that they say on their website is in stock. Now what did you change to the pedals to make them feel good for you? Advice? Which springs and plastic insert on which pedal.. 🙏👍 (My part box only came with a few extra's with empty spaces?? Guess those are the ones they used?)
@@LaurenceDusoswa i would get it mainly for nostalgic reasons . but it's a hard choice . knowing a simucube sport and sparco wheel are cheaper . (i don't need many buttons, retro dtm and rally is what i want my rig to look like . the fact they put focus on the slewrate is why i'm still in doubt lol .
Direct drive wheels are more smoother that is all i can say...i have g923 also but this new model is expensive in my country(turkey)but if you can afford it you can upgrade i think.
Hello, I have a G923 and would like to replace it with a direct drive model. I'm hesitating between 2 bases, the Logitech Pro DD and the Asetek La Prima. Could someone who has tested both compare the force feedback (FFB) for me? The console compatibility of the Logitech is a plus, and I'm aware of the issues with its ecosystem. What I don't know is the responsiveness and precision of its FFB compared to the la prima base. Thank you
cool product that seems to have less of a headache to a real sim type set others put out. I have a full fanatec set now and sometimes miss the ease of use my old G25 wheel had. Price is abit high but you get better support behind that should you have any issues.
I'm skeptical about support for a product that isn't sold at all at brick and mortar stores. I doubt they expect high sales, so I doubt they'll have good supoort.
best review so far, thanks. The others were left something to be desired in terms of presentation quality and thoughtful critique, this video is excellent. I'm buying the wheel, best pedals to use with it? The G Pros could be better, in this price range, or slightly higher is anything comparable? I'm new to the fancy pedals, I know the dc2 looks like a good option in the price range but haven't done much research outside of it. Recommendations?
@@LaurenceDusoswa I ordered my G pro wheel and a leo bodnar cable to use my axc modded g29 pedals with it until I decide which pedals to get. How do the Gpro and CSL V2 pedals compare in performance and feel? I do like the idea of having a standardized wheel and pedal set, less extra software and complexity, and is the Clubsport worth considering for a little bit more than the Gpros?
i think the price is a little steep ... but for me the simplified menus in setting up the 'feel' of the wheel is a plus for me and be able to change settings on the wheel itself superb! i have been looking to upgrade my g29 and all the other manufactures provide excellent products, but the g pro has that more plug/play/drive look ... where as i could see hours of menu tweaking trying to get the right feel with the other wheels on the market. nice review!
I'd steer away from this product. Probably, in a few years, they will roll out a true economical package. This is just a publicity stunt that isn't sold at brick and mortar stores. It's just a facelift to upgrade their aging image. HOWEVER, perhaps, maybe... Just maybe if you get one, sealed and unopened, it might be worth a fortune in 20 years!
Nice review, but "other pedals in the price range perform better" leads me to ask the obvious question: which ones? You commented several times on pedal angle. What, in your opinion, is the correct angle for pedals? Finally, I have to say, not being able to buy them at Amazon or Micro Center (US computer retailer -- I have one locally) is a real negative for me. It's a big thing that's kept me from Fanatec. The retailers I mention have liberal reliable return policies. I can understand that the more boutique manufacturers have to sell direct, but for a Logitech product to only be sold direct is just weird.
I think it’s a bit overpriced but in Logitechs defences they had to charge for the console compatibility. I am not sold on the pedals and the mounting of the wheel. QR seems promising but not available yet in order to mount more aesthetically pleasing wheels which is not great if you want to have a switch. Although great seeing them entering the DD market, its definetely a solid option for people with consoles or even PC that want a plug and play wheel. Students in the UK seem to be in a very good position as i ve seen this already in a bundle for around £850-£900 complete and its just have been released. Looking forward to your long term review. 🙏💪
Looks amazing! I have always been a controller player but only yesterday I got to try out an ffb wheel for the first time, a g27. And the quality of everything felt great. So i think that this would be a great option for people upgrading from a g wheel. Tho the price seems too high.
I mean where else can you get 11nm of torque for 1K? Lol if you say that's unreasonable then tell me which other options deliver the same specs for a lower price
It's not a high price at all for what you get in the bundle and it's in stock also, buy the pedals and wheel, base and clamp it's discounted, and you got a further Logidays promotion discount of £50 at the moment on the whole bundle, mine is on it's way to me as i write this for £1212.48 Total cost from the Netherlands free shipping including VAT to the UK Great review!
Fantastic work as always, LD! Your channel was my first stop when I saw the announcement. Glad to see Logitech compete in the DD market, but I fear the price will deter many customers.
I'm sold. Logitech actually gives you a bundle discount if you purchase the combo so you need to check your pricing facts. Bottom line is there aren't many DD solutions with 100% PS5 console functionality out of the box. The GT DD looks good but it's never in stock, only 8 Nm, and a host of user complaints. My guess is the price will come down a bit when it hits full retail (Amazon) but as it sits, it's hands down the best Gran Turismo 7 wheel setup bar none.
I need to check my pricing facts? 😅 these are the prices as told to me by Logitech before the product went live and they’re the exact prices they are listed at. I’m not sure how much more price research I can do 😂
Logitech certainly does not give any kind of discount bundle. They say buy together at - £1150 £850 - Base £300 - pedals Which is how much they are individually
Yes, that's correct. Logitech is discounting it by $87.50 when you add both the wheel and pedals to the cart, at least in the US. Go ahead and try it before you spout more BS.
This would have been amazing 4 or 5 years ago but at 1k there are way better options at the moment. Logi should aim for a 5nm complete bundle in the 500 dollar price point if they want to be competitive in the DD market
@@RacingAnt Couldn't have said it better myself! I've seen nothing but rave reviews on RU-vid, with people who actually have one saying it performs just as good or better than wheels at a higher price point. I don't understand people's logic!
Hey Laurence, with so many pedals entering the market in recent times, do you think you could do an end of year round up to rank and compare between the options?
What happens for example in GT7 if I set the max torque to 5/10 and on the wheel I set it to say 5 nm? Does this mean the effective max torque would be 2.5 nm?
Great review Lawrence. I think for the console crew, this can definitely be a good option the fanatec dd is less expensive but with 11nm this will be a good option. Good to see.
Great Review, but im in the market currently to upgrade and wondering if Trueforce is enough of a factor to buy this or can i just add a buttkicker to get similar feeling in the rig with say a Simagic alpha, (just wondering if ill miss the feeling of trueforce with a non trueforce rim)?
Seems like a great bundle the only downfall is the price Logitech has always been known for having good value for money products that perform well at a lower cost although it is a DD so it’s not gonna be cheap I think it should have been made more affordable to to have a competitive edge in the market.
It's expensive because Logitec doesn't want to sell a lot of them. It's just there to facelift their image until they roll out their real stuff a few years from now.
I bought my G27 new in January 2014, did some mods for aesthetics. I was excited about Logitech releasing a direct drive wheel, but that excitement faded a bit. I've heard the force feedback is top notch, but the overall size, mounting, and even cost have influenced me to look elsewhere. At first I thought the Moza R9, but between yours and other reviews, I'm taking a hard look at the Simagic Alpha Mini.
Yeah, the Logitec DD is just a publicity stunt to heighten their image as a premier FFB wheel producer to sell more of their geared wheels. That DD isn't competitive and won't sell.
@@virtualawakening2299 I'm sure it will sell, but it's probably going to be more to the console crowd, as options are a bit more limited. I could be wrong. And as a side note, my Alpha Mini is on the way.
@Laurence Dusoswa I did, Xmas eve I spent a months worth of paychecks got the simagic alpha mini, gt hub, 330mm rim, gt omega prime cockpit, Heusinkveld Sprint 3 pedal set. For the week I got to use it, it was fabulous. Then I discovered a week ago a slight water intrusion in the basement, wet carpet. Hardware is safe, but haven't been able to use it. Thankfully it's drying nicely and should be back up next week.
So with the hat switch, I couldn't use it as left right up down when scrolling through black boxes/options in iracing? (Previous, next, up, down, like a formal funky) This is a big let down 😕
@LaurenceDusoswa ahh, I must have misunderstood. You said it doesn't have click down functionality, I thought you meant it didn't actually click in each direction (left, right, up, down), or work as an input for each direction, I understand now
Nice review. The price isn't that different to an R9 with an RS v2 wheel, and I feel like the Logitech wheel is better in some ways (slightly smaller, not as heavy), arguably better shifters.
@@LaurenceDusoswa Thanks for the reply :) I also feel like the Logitech will save me money as well, because if I bought the R9 and RSv2, I'd want to buy the GS as well soon :D
@@LaurenceDusoswa I just slightly worry about the wired connection (that causes the 1060 degree limit). The Logitech FAQs say: "Your PRO Racing Wheel has been engineered to continue to operate for many hundreds of hours" and I end up thinking "How many hundreds of hours??". Obviously Logitech are well known for reliability and I haven't heard of many issues with the new wheel yet so hopefully it's okay.
So this cannot be purchased via Amazon or other retailers ? I’m in the Middle East and I cannot find this on the Logitech website and they don’t have an option to buy either. How would I be able to purchase this ?
As much as I love Logitech and bought most of their wheels in the past, that is an awful lot of plastic where others provide metal for a similar price point. Also, no adjustment points is a no go for me based on my current rig setup.
Logitec breathes a huge Phew! No sale for you! They don't intend to sell this product. It's to save face and keep themselves relevant. I'd be surprised if they kept this product with it's huge enclosure, unless in a year or two, the price suddenly drops significantly. They have to have something else baking in their oven...
@@LaurenceDusoswa Unfortunately the pedals are still unavailable in Germany so I will have to wait untill the bundle becomes ready to order. Will snag one then.
It's looks pretty nice. Hopefully the price will come down a bit. It will be interesting to compare this to the Thrustmaster system. Having more options is a good thing.
Great review. I cannot wait to see what the mod community does with those pedals. I've come close to inverting my G920 pedals but it seems like a hassle and risk to fragile wires. These should be better for modding. I'll be upgrading to something DD for Xmas and Logitech has definitely made the choice harder. Gotta see what Thrustmaster and Asetek bring.
Yeah exciting times but just like netflix, sometimes we spend too much time browsing and waste time that we could be sim racing instead :p it seems that right now, there’s always another product around the corner
@@LaurenceDusoswa Definitely. I am still having so much fun with my G920 that I can take my time and upgrade the rest of my setup for immersion first. Loving triple screens, wind sim, profile rig. Waiting on shakers in the mail. :)
I'd hold off on Logitec DD just because of brand loyalty. This product smells of disingenuous facelifting to bolster their true moneymaker, the G920 for a few more years until they roll out their true DD products. They just don't want to look like they're falling behind Fanatec, Moza, Camus, Thrustmaster and the like. So they roll out something small volume and very outpriced with the guise of super quality. If I had money to invest, it might be a good risk to buy the complete set and keep it sealed and unopened. It might go up in value when it becomes a forgotten blip in history.
@@virtualawakening2299this is the best wheel for gt7 on ps5. Even thr dd pro from fanatec thats made for this game dosent feel as good like the g923 on that game. Almost noone talks about it
Great review Laurence 👍 I've come away with the impression that the base, qr and wheel combo are better than the 8-10Nm offerings from Fanatec, Simagic and Moza (mounting issues / size not withstanding), but the pedals are slightly disappointing. Is that a fair summary?
Price wise, the best bang for buck is the G29 that was recently on sale for $199. As far as best wheel overall, that probably be the fanatec podium series, but that's like $1200 just for the base I believe. Budget friendly direct drive would be the fanatec gt dd base bundle with the pedals at 5nm ffb, once you factor in the boost 180 kit to bring it to 8nm ffb, upgrade the pedals and add the load cell, etc, your pushing $1000 bundle price before tax and shipping. The logitech pro bundle is just a little bit more then that, in stock, and offers better support and service for me in the US, so I went with them. Ordered and shipped same day, be here new years eve. With the discounts I used, I purchased each item separately and it came to a total of $848.92 for the pedals and wheel base. I used a student discount from my kid lol, wasn't supposed to work but did, and then it also stacked with the new years 23 discount, and also stacked with the DRLUPO 15% discount. Could not pass it up for that price. The almost $500 I saved over MSRP went towards the purchase of a Playseat Trophy sim rig, wanted the logitech one but not available yet, so just got a black one. Can't wait to put it all together new years eve, I'm upgrading from a g29 with a simple vevor racing stand.
am i right in thinking true force and how it works would not be technically limited to the logitech hardware, particularly for direct drives which as we know all have the ability to respond fast and give any range of frequency outputs... like for example some wheelbases are so quick they can make sounds without the need for speakers of any kind so in theory isnt true force and what it does possible on all wheelbases, more so direct drives, just ofcourse it would need to be programmed in like a canned effect i guess. can i ask you as somebody with it what the difference is between true force and its engine effect vs something like raceroom with its canned engine and gear change effects. Also i know you touched on this being possible through something like simhub but a little expansion on the difference and if you think its possible on all hardware would be great.
One comment that i may add from the review you have done is the price…I’m a bit dissapointed that the msrp is on the higher side…plus DD market is very competitive…$999 and international inflation, I prefer to go for sim magic alpha gt4 set + Thrustmaster loadcell..and have extra money left
If your sim rig doesn't have the capability of adjusting the pedal angle....it's kind of crappy. Even better quality freestanding wheel stands can do that (see Wheel stand Pro 2.0 by Next Level racing).
The pricing is so much above the g923 😐 Logitech should have a model with direct drive between the g pro and g923. Like a g924DD not as strong as the g pro in the same housing as the g923 (and same pedals as the g923).
Great review again. All in all, its shame that price is too high. Console players usually are not willing to buy highend products and maybe logitech is bit too market brand for hardcore simracers. If that would be priced like cheapest fanatec combos, maybe, but fanatec ecosystem is still much better.
I don’t know if it’s fair to say that console players don’t want high end products. Maybe there aren’t as many hardcore sim racers on consoles partly because of the lack of equipment choice
If marketers had a market, the choices would be there. If the Fanatec CSL was selling like hotcakes to consoles, everyone would charge into that market.
I just logged onto YT after work and I swear after seeing this thumbnail I went straight into "What the ****?" state. I'll have to share my thoughts later once I actually watched the review but boy was this unexpected! I truly believed it will be another G9...4...something...wheel that's just regurgitating the 15 year old design. To see a DD here is...surprising. Edit: Okay, almost 1500 euros is a bit...overkill. I mean I get it, but still, I was almost afraid my R9 will lose its edge but it didn't at all. I mean Logitech curently has 0 ecosystem for this base. No formula rims, no rally rims, no open GT rims. Just the stock one with a QR that may come in handy later down the line. The pedals are just weird. They should be almost as good as the V3s judging by their price but they seem to fall short. And where is the rest of the periphery? Where's a shifter and a handbrake? I'm sorry, I just feel like it's a bit of a letdown. We'll see what Thrustmaster has to offer with their DD in November.
I really don’t know what to go with. I really want fanatic but live in uk and shipping import fees and possible issues with faulty returns, really put me off. My other direct drive option for ps5 is this Logitech offering. I’m sure I’ll love the performance but the quality and look of wheel, really put me off. If only I could try before I buy
The Logitech is great quality. I really like it. The lack of steering wheel rims puts me off and the fanatec csl elite v2 pedals are better than the Logitech pro pedals.
@@LaurenceDusoswa have Logitech stated that more wheels are coming? I mean would be a bit silly to release the 1 wheel rim when it’s detachable and leave ya with absolutely no other options.
@@LaurenceDusoswa For that price, I expected everything to be metal except the foot rest. With all that pressure on the pedals, it's going to cause lateral flexing from the plastic holding up the metal plate.
It’s important to be neutral and offer perspective. I do think that I know more now than I did when I did the bulk of the UX testing with them and perhaps could have helped them to address the issues that I have sooner.
Great review as always Laurence. No doubt this will sell extremely well and be a staple of corporate events and expo's... and we will no doubt see some high profile ambassadors with brand deals using the product. For the sim racing enthusiast i feel they have missed the mark at this price point. Even if it were priced at €800, similar to the csl dd it doesnt have the aesthetic appeal of the fanatec or Moza products. Its a shame but nothing about it makes me want one...i was really hoping to be excited about it. Perhaps Thrustmaster will come up with the goods?
I dunno about it selling well. It's not available at brick and mortar stores at all... I mean, it's overpriced and almost no one will opt to buy it... It's just a publicity stunt to keep their geared stuff relevant and selling. That's their money makers. Business stategy.
18:21 What is amazing is that everyone thought that they will not make DD wheel when they have tens of millions of customers who bought their previous wheels.
Very disappointed to see so much plastic in a product of this price point but I'm glad that Logitech took the release seriously unlike how thrustmaster has done with theirs. But what type of motor does it have? Nice review like always Lawrence!
Seems like a slight misstep to me. It makes sense if it's been in dev for 3 years - so much has happened in 3 years and it feels like Logitech stuck to the plan they had rather than adapt. It's an expensive product that looks more like a G29 than a Simucube 2. Understandably so but around 1400 eur gets you so much more now than it did when the dev cycle started on this
I think I've never said the term "mixed feelings" before this launch. Yes, my dream was for Logitech to join the modern sim racing era, because it's one of the last US corporations standing, and because they can make sim racing technologies like DD and LC mainstream and reachable to every casual consumer, But no, not at 1500€. I thought 150€ for example, 200 or 300. We're living in an era where old products hold their value for ever and there's no meaning for the concept of modern technology. They make a 2x faster GPU for example, but at double the price. I could have bought the higher card from the last gen to begin with, if I was to pay more!!!!!!!!
@@LaurenceDusoswa We might.. if technological advancements stay at the same pace as we've had in the last year, and if crazy rulers don't attack others, and if inflation slows down.. Anyway, thanks for the review! keep pushing!
I think Logitec just pumped this product out with it's overpriced pricetag, unavailable in stores because they don't intend for it to sell. It's just to keep their image relevant with competitors. It will soon be forgotten and replaced by a true competitor in two or three years.
