Thanks for the review, after some serious reviews analysis and comparison I ended up buying the Z407 and I can say it's a purchase you wont' regret. Great sound, nice design, good bass, different options for connectivity and the price/quality ratio you're getting for your money is awesome! Great channel by the way, your comments and highlights of the speakers helped me a lot to take my decision! Some people are reporting delays with with wired connection and the sync between movies or podcasts, personally I haven't had any of these problems but it's worth mentioning though. Pura vida!
Appreciate it a lot !! Imo, it’s worth a look into the z407 if you are not an audiophile, it’s bang for your buck!!! And yeah haven’t notice lagging issues other than the idle-inactivity “lag” 😤
The iPhone sample is smart as those who have the same phone or an iPhone in general can record their own current speakers playing the same songs you showed to compare the two better. Great overall video presentation!
I currently have the old z523 speakers and they have served me well for 10+ years now despite their cable connection issues. I bought the z623 speakers thinking im in for a massive upgrade but boy was i disappointed, watching vids that dont have any bass in them has the satellites sounding like tin cans but vids that do have bass absolutely *hammer* that sound hard to the point youre forced to turn the bass knob almost to 0 and then its back to a tin can sound, there was 0 middle ground with them. Now im eyeing these z407 speakers but im really unsure because i saw nothing but praise for the z623 and got burned. I use my speakers for gaming, music and movies/videos.
@@kendidshoots I'm glad you can live with it, they are your speakers after all, but that made them a no go for me. I've had speakers that behave like that, I utterly loath missing the first part of an input signal, and then having to try to rewind the signal to hear it. Anywho, decided to go with a Fosi Audio v3 desktop amp with a set of Klipsch B-100 bookshelf speakers. Absolutely an awesome computer audio solution, and no input lag, while still having volume control conveniently located down next to my keyboard.
Immaculate review video. Very well thought out and planned. well executed and informative. I'm not going to buy the speakers but I just wanted you to know that your hard work is appreciated. 👍🏿
-This speaker has a persistent hissing problem, even when not connected to any audio source.- -Despite my attempts to return it, the authorized 3rd party vendor dismissed it as a non-issue and sent it back.- *UPDATE:* *Logitech Global* resolved my issue by sending new unit. Which has NO Hissing Problem. Problem is not general but was about a faulty unit.
Yo, thanks for writing. NGL, only if I place my ear all the way up to the speakers will I hear the faint hiss. I am currently running 2 ground loop cables thru a mixer to receive input audio from my Windows and Mac Machine. Only when putting my ear really close to the speakers, will I ever pick up the hissing sound. Speaker hum and hiss generally come from poor wiring, ground loops or other electromagnetic interferences (AC line hum; RF interference, and USB and PC noise).
So what is the best option for connection via usb cable or via aux cable, and one more question, do both cables come in the package, I plan to buy these speakers, so I want to prepare in time.
Sorry for the late reply, I would say go for AUX! Micro usb not included in the box, only the 3.5mm aux cable! Everything else like the power supply and LR channel cables are included
Hi, great review. Thank you for making the video. The chimes you are talking about near the end... My understanding is the speakers go to sleep after 10 or so minutes of silence. Would they make a chime when audio plays and they wake from sleep mode?
Yooooo, yeah the speaker goes to idle mode quite often. (havent actually timed it to know).. Check out 11:51, no chime/alert sounds when the audio plays, and there is a slight delay, that gets a little annoying XD
Thanks for the reply. I've been reading up on these more. Seems that the sleep timer is controled by the volume puck. If the batteries are removed, the speakers do not go into sleep mode. The down side is you cannot control the volume on the speaker side. You would need to set the speakers to as loud as you want before removing batteries and then change volume on the PC side. At least that's what I can put together from what I read. I have not been able to test this as I do not have the speakers setup.
Hi bro, been searching for reviews about Z407, fortunately found ur video at last. Just have a question bro, if I use it for gaming and movies, will it be good enough? And the delay latency will it be very horrible?
I use these speakers on my setup for gaming and media I rarely notice audio lag but it does happen and you will run into it but fortunately its not to bad or noticeable, one thing I will say since it is bluetooth you will also experience a random audio tear where it cuts out for half a second but that doesn't happen often at all and its not horrible by any means, at the end of the day its a bluetooth surround sound system there will be lag and some imperfections but Logitech does a good job at minimizing the faults my personal rating 10 being studio quality I give these a honest 6/10 just fine for gaming
Hi. Since this is a 9 month review, I assume you daily drive this. Would you be able to measure the length of the speaker cables (left or right, assuming they are the same length). A bit odd request. But I just want to know cause I want to hide as many cables as possible and sometimes i need the necessary length to do so. If they are short I can think about getting an extension. Thanks.
Hey there sorry for the late reply The cable length to the satelite speakers are about 1.8m. Always long enough to hide it. Not sure about extensions because it is not removable from the back of the satelite speakers 🤔 Thanks for dropping by tho
Hey there, I’m using it with my Mac at the moment via USB. It has two levels of volume control. Let me summarise as below USB: Z407 control + Mac OS control (2 separate settings) AUX: Mac OS Control only (turning the dial overrides volume control on the Mac)
Hello! Just one question. Ive been watching alot of videos about these speakers and was wondering if the chimes they emit are really loud or if it isn't so bad. Thanks
Yoooo, yeah the chime are at a constant level. Only when you hit max volume/setting does it chime. If you control your volume from your PC/Mac, you wont have any issues..!
yes, the controller chimes are fixed and relatively loud when you're listening at lower volumes. For me it's just a nuisance, not a deal-breaker.@@kendidshoots
Hello, did you try them in videogames? I was thinking of buying these speakers mainly to play shooters where sound is very important, but I don't like to use a headset as they seem too uncomfortable, that's why I prefer to use speakers. greetings
Yoo, I did try out some games, its OK for casual gaming. L/R channel distinguishes sound properly, but as always. If you are using it for gaming, and sound is very important, use headsets HAHA
Hey there, i see.. I have no issues with bluetooth if im not wrong... Check your surrounding with connected peripherals as well.. Yes, best case is with Audio Jack or the USB...
Should the 2 speakers be wired or can they be via Bluetooth? I would like the 2 speakers to be able to be wireless in my setup and the subwoofer below connected to power.
Mmmmm I don’t think that’ll work. It’s all wired including the pull speakers that you can’t remove any cables. Bluetooth is probably just data transfer (audio) and power is still necessary and it’s done via cables Hope it helps
can I use it as subwoofer only?, I mean, I will be using other speakers for mid and highs. or is this the type of speaker that works only if satellite are connected?
For the shot of the thumbnail, I was using some RGB Tube lighting for the scene (One on the Left/Right) in real life, its just the GOVEE LED strip at the back of the monitor!!
That’s an interesting question. It’s a yes for sure, no way of switching modes. I need to test out if what mode it defaults to each time it’s turned on. Hang on
IYO, is it better to connect this Logi via the USB or BT? I've read in otjer reviews, they were experiencing some BT Lag. I hate that!. As an example comparison, I have My Amazon Echo BT paired to JBL Charge 3 BT Speakers with really No Lag. When I connect my HP Laptop via BT to the JBLs , there is some noticeable Lag even being neraby the PC?
Yooooo, in the video i explained about the delay plugged in using AUX, and USB tend to be a little quicker in terms of waking up from sleep. Both are solid options for playback delay (almost none). BT wise nothing too terrible from my exprience. Always go for wired connection if you dont want any delay i guess
Hey there, zero lag when doing either apart from idling for awhile and playing a track lags a little as I explained in the video. Other than that it is all good
There isn’t any lag/delay with usb or aux correct? I am wondering about Bluetooth. I do a lot of music and video editing and the Bluetooth feature looks nice but would still stick with a wired connection if Bluetooth gives me a delay
@@jackbrowne3 Just bought these and Bluetooth has horrible latency, something like 300+ ms, on my modern (B650E chipset with Ryzen 9 7900X) system with BT 5.2. Don't buy for the Bluetooth. About to check out the USB mode now due to the latency seemingly having no fix for Bluetooth mode.
Hey there, sorry I cant help with this. Have not used this speaker personally. But since they are both within the price range, my guess it would be decent ! The z407 is quite amazing.
Logitech should remove the horrible loudy sounds when the speakers get connected/disconnected to bluetooth as well as the sound when the speakers are powered. I can't even imagine we cannot mute this shit.
Hey there pluckerster, consider turning in subtitles if you find it difficult to follow along. I have slowed down a lot when delivering this video as compared to my other videos. Or dont watch it if its awful, sorry for wasting your time?
Hey there ! Nope i hardly use the dial other than to monitor audio with my mixer ( as I don’t want double audio outputs) Else, I always control from my pc. Sorry for the late reply
Hey there !! No, unfortunately it only takes in 1 input at a time. I am currently running a dual PC setup using the Z407 speakers through a mixer to output both audio at the same time! (M-Audio M Track Solo) PS: giving you a hint, but I will be sure to make a video soon covering it...
