Mam can you please answer me why logmar is measured at 4m
@optometry-with-samir
@optometry-with-samir 4 года назад
✓In logMAR chart, letters are designed so that they subtend an angle of 5min arc at 4m distance. ✓ In snellen Chart, letters are designed to subtend an angle of 5min of arc at 6m distance. ✓ if letters subtend in less than 5min of Arc our eyes will not able to differentiate two objects separately. Thank you, This is Samir from"Team Smart optometry"

Can you please share something about LogMar tested at 3 mtrs and 1.5 mtrs
@optometry-with-samir
@optometry-with-samir 2 года назад
Normally we do LogMAR at 4m distance. If we reduce the distance for every 1M change we have to add 0.3 with the final Visual Acuity. Like: Log mar VA = Log Mar Score + 0.02(missing optotypes) + 0.3( for every 1metre change) Thank you, Samir Sutradhar.

@@optometry-with-samir thanks for the reply But can you please explain this 3mtrs and 1.5 mtrs like you have explained in the video.
@optometry-with-samir
@optometry-with-samir 2 года назад
For 4 meter the formula is: Log mar VA = Log Mar Score + 0.02(missing optotypes) Now if we perform the test at 3m, then Formula will be: Log mar VA = Log Mar Score + 0.02(missing optotypes) + 0.3 Generally We reduce distance in 1m step like, 4m, 3m, 2m, 1m not like 3.5m, 2.5m, 1.5m. Thank you, Samir Sutradhar.

Have a question.. What changes will be on vision while we decrease the distance bw the chart and the pt?
@optometry-with-samir
@optometry-with-samir Год назад
Chart's letters are designed to see from a specific distance. If any patient (low vision patient) is not able to see any letter then we can take the chart closer to patient but for that we need to add 0.3 for each meter with the patient logMAR score .

@optometry-with-samir 2 года назад
Identify LogMar score using formula in the video. Then add 0.9 with the logMar score. We have to add 0.9 because test is performed from 1 m. General this is performed from 4m. As we reduced distance from 4m to 1m (3 meter reduction) we have to add 0.3 X 3 = 0.9 ( 0.3 for each meter reduction. Thank you, Samir Sutradhar.

@optometry-with-samir
@optometry-with-samir 3 года назад
Standard distance is 4meter. But depending upon the patient eyes condition we can decrease the distance. But if you decrease the distance you have to add 0.3 for each meter. Thank you, Samir Sutradhar Team Smart Optometry.

@@Gunjan1998 0.3 will be constant, you just have to add distance in meter. Like: For 1 meter reduction of distance: 0.3 x 1 For 2 meter reduction: 0.3 x 2 For 3 meter reduction: 0.3 x 3
@Gunjan1998
@Gunjan1998 2 года назад
@@optometry-with-samir 😃🙏yes so it means we have to add 0.3 if we reduce our distance from 4m to 2m and for 1m we will add 0.6 and for 50cm 0.9 Is it🙏as we reduce the distance exactly half like from 4m to 2m 2m to 1m 1m to 50cm
