but what about if the prisms are placed in the same direction e.g. BI Rt eye and BI left eye but of different powers?? what will be the resultant direction??
I have been trying to confidently grasp the concept of prism base direction for several weeks now and this video has finally made it click. Clear concise info. Thank you so much

Sir can you please explain how can we determine type of astigmatism by keratometer readings. For example K1 : 44D @90 (7.61mm) K2: 45.50D @180 (7.85mm) Now how can we determine type of astigmatism ? Please help.
Sir please tell how to understand the type of astigmatism (with the rule or against the rule astigmatism) from a transposition power prescription. For example -2.00DS/+1.25 DC × 140⁰ . The transposed value is -0.75 DS/-1.25DC × 50⁰ . Now how we will understand the type of astigmatism (with the rule, against the rule or oblique astigmatism) from this prescription?
This mechanism is for normal eye. In Esotropia the rays is shifted to fovea so that both images can be superimposed that give the amount of deviation. But the eyes remain Esotropic. Base prism doesn't correct Esotropia it gives the amount of deviation and in paralytic squint for temporary relief for diplopia.
